For me, Syria and Israel are two faces of the same coin:
Occupying aggressing pigs that violated all norms, raped our land, killed our citizens, bombed us without mercy, tortured the youth, still have greedy interests in Lebanon, and imposed themselves as a de-facto force with the help of internal forces (in addition to the killing of prominent figures)...
All prisoners in Syria are as heroic as the Lebanese in other jails (Israeli) who fought for freedom and against all forms of occupation...
They should be released ASAP, or else relations between Syria and Lebanon will never be normalized, no matter how many embassies are built in Lebanon.

don't get me wrong, one type of wrong doesn't make another better.
they are both trash at their finest, but syria doesn't have to play pretend in this “humanitarian” department to please its big western brothers/fund-raisers. It doesn’t need to. it’s a self sustained devil.
Syria left in 2005 after occupying us, to hell i say and DON’T RETURN bi**h!
But also, my memory hasn’t failed me yet, Isreal committed grave acts of war crimes against us in 2006. GRAVE ACTS OF WAR CRIMES that i shall not forget.
but at any rate, we digress much when we compare rotten tomatoes to rotten apples, for we lebanese seem to forget the peculiar long-trip-to-hell that is our own “prison” system. | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Red Phoenix For This Useful Post: | | | Registered Member

Greg, I do not believe that FPM is complacent by any form or shape with the Syrian regime as far as i see on their website and from their expressed positions on this issue. The relationship did improve between Syrian and FPM. At least they see now that what GMA stands for is still the same and his position on Syria-Lebanon relationship. The problem is that FPM does not represent the Lebanese government and if they tried to do so then certain group of politicians will cry out loud that FPM is establishing a state within state..... they tried back in 2005-2006 but the government asked them to step aside because it will deal with it. Their dealing atigonize Syria and resulted in empty pot! just go back to the archive and see the chronology on this topic in the mentioned time period. My hope is that HA will talk to the SYRIAN and get information about the prisoners and missing ones and then rely it to "whom ever it may concern". In the mean time, I would like to see the missing Lebanese TV stations that are celebrating the freedm of Lebanese from Isreali jail, which is GREAT, to show or add few seconds on the same TV clip reminding ALL Lebanese of the plight of MIA/detained Lebanese in Syria. Such small action would keep their issue alive. It could infuse optimism that missing Lebanese are at equal right regardless of the occupation identity. | | | | | Registered Member

I hope they will release the prisoners in syria this year and even tomorrow but this needs alot of effort by our president and various parties. Is he up to the task? Diplomatic relations doesn't mean squat if its going to become another anjar. I heard that Michel Sme7a will be going to Syria with GMS is this true?
We need all the prisonsers back on lebanese soil. GMA should talk more about this and get his allies ta ye3te3rfo that there are prisoners there and they want them back to. | | | | | Registered Member

Isn't it interesting to hear "Wallid El Mou3allim's" comments on the Detainees In Syria.
He claims to have commisioned prosecuters of high virtues to follow up on the fate of the detainees.
What a joke!!!
Why has it taken them almost 2 decades to do so, and if the Syrian regime was serious about this topic, why didn't they do something while they were occupying and running Lebanon.
It come to show, what a corrupt and inhumane regime they are.
And to prove on how inhumane a majority of regimes tht rule arab countries are, they are putting their support behind the Sudanese regime that is ethnically cleaning the Sudan of its minorities in darfur.

Revolting to say the least | You ask why it has taken them 2 decades to do so? Because your country was under their boot, as well as its rulers, all of them. Why do you blame Syria, they were the mighty here, they were the winners no? They could do whatever they wanted and no one even dared to open their rotten mouths, where were the Lebanese voices during those 2 decades you are talking about? I do not blame Syria, Syria did what was in its interest, it took advantage of every single thing in Lebanon, it sucked us up till the last drop of blood to build itself and strengthen itself, good for them, isn't the US doing it to the whole world today? but what were the Lebanese politicians, presidents, ministers, deputies, mayors.... doing? Weren't they licking the boot of their offenders? I blame them, I blame the Lebanese and not the Syrians, I blame the Lebanese who are cowards, who are greedy, who are rotten to the bone, who are opportunistic, who have no shame, no dignity, no self-respect, who sold themselves, their wives, their conscience, their country and their countrymen for a seat or a position or a bunch of dollars. Those are the ones to be blamed.
And today, after 30 years, you really think you would find many prisoners in Syria? What I believe and fear the most is that the ones we think are in Syria are actually here, in Lebanon, laying under our feet. | | | | | Registered Member

Ma khtalafna, all militias that collaborated with the syrians did hand over some patriots lal me7tall...
Bas kamen let us not forget 13 teshrin when the Syrian soldiers were arresting and taking many soldiers beyond borders (pictures available on tayyar.org)... Ask Fayez Karam, El 3amid Ashkar, and many others who were released and who still claim there are Lebanese in Mazzeh, Tadmour, Filistine, and other dark uncivilized Syrian dungeons... | | | | | Registered Member
