Default Le Figaro: Aoun met with Mossad in Paris - 4th December 2008

Aoun met with Mossad during his exile in Paris, French newspaper reports
December 4, 2008

Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun met “several times with representatives from the Israeli Mossad in Paris, during the period of his exile between 1991 and 2005,” the French newspaper Le Figaro reported on Thursday.

According to the paper, French intelligence officers charged with monitoring Aoun’s movements advised him to avoid meeting with agents of a country Lebanon was still officially at war with.

“However, the Christian General refused to listen to these warnings. At the time, Michel Aoun was one of the primary opponents of the Syrian military presence in Lebanon. As for now, the general has changed his mind and positioned himself, since his return in 2005, within the group that includes Hezbollah and has found it necessary to establish good relations with Damascus,” the newspaper reported, adding that news of Aoun’s contacts with Mossad would not be appreciated by his Syrian friends.

What do you guys think of this article to come out of Le Figaro?
What did GMA negotiate with the Israeli's?
Was it part of his efforts to promote the Syria Accountability Act in 2003?
Was it to enhance his position with the Americans during his exile in France?

If Le Figaro and "NOW" say it, then it must be true

Love the timing. Completely innocent.

Losers.

Why were these news released just now after so many years? Fishy timing at the very least.

PS: I loved the advice given by the french intelligence officers to GMA.

a new attempt and tactic to attack general aoun.we have heard the arguments why GMA shouldnt have gone to syria and how much syrian and iranian he is.it seems all these talk was not successful in denting the image of the general and affecting the visit.now they are using a new attempt to cause division between the general and his allies.

it is irrelevant to know that the general met with mossad agents without revealing the essence or nature and the outcome of the meetings.perhaps the mossad wanted the general to do things against the interests of lebanon and he refused.who knows?and on another note, yaret those criticizing him using this language are as patriotic and nationalistic as the general.khallihon yet3allamo min el general 3anel wataniyyeh!!!!

Very good. Le Figaro is a respected source, it always tells the truth.

Le Figaro?

Remember during the war in july 2006, they tried to put wrong words in the mouth of general Aoun. However, tayyar.org immediately published a disclaimer followed by the publication of the entire AUDIO file of the interview! Georges Malbrunot was cornered but he never apologizes... on the contrary he does go on with his lies.

General Aoun is used of these kind of games and is well prepared to counter them.

However, it is a bad point for us because it clearly means that the french government may be with the rapprochement between Lebanon and Syria, even with Hezbollah... but it is still against General Aoun and Tayyar. Le Figaro is for Sarkozy what Al Moustakbal is for Hariri or Al Manar for Hezbollah... a good thermometer.
