I'd bite my lip, shake my head and withdraw silently to my safe asylum behind my convictions. There, and for three days and nights, I'll be celebrating the diversity of self-destruction we lebanese are gifted with..

This is the only thing I will ever say. BYE, and this time it will be forever.

Shuyu3i i don't know where you think you are but this ain't a cool democratic contest in a normal and stable European country. Here you don't have "les Verts" against the "Parti Socialiste" competing in fair elections with slogans like "Energie Renouvelable" or the 35hours for workers.

These elections are about a whole Nation's existence. About a fight that has been happening since 1958 and is still goin' on.

And yes if the lebanese choose the morons it means they are too naive and fell in face of the ongoing FALSE propaganda.

Have fun with your "rou7 riyadiyé" feeling. Personally I wont take it that way.

when you hear some guy talking about martyr Aridi as his ally, and when you hear him talking about all his military victories, you will know that what ever the election results are this guy is the winner.

if we win by 65% of the christian votes, that same sick guy will claim victory for bringing the 70% down by 5%

guys no need to get overworked about this, all that matters is the effort and the vote itself, the personal vote of conviction.

in the end it doesn't all matter that much, cuz if we win, they will still nag like they did since 2005, and if we did win, we still need to get the 2 thirds to be constructive, and even if we do get the two thirds we still need them cuz this country need all its ppl.

so, i'm not putting my life at stake here, i know the stakes are high, but i'm not betting my free soul over this. in that sense, who wants to leave just leave, now, during the election and after it, & who wants to despair or celebrate, just do it whenever u want to also.

this country will not be fixed in 2009, come on ppl, this country needs to become secular first to hopefully someday become self sustainable, and i ain't crossing my fingers over that any time soon.

but as far as the elections of 2009 are concerned, i'll do my best to help fpm win, whether my best is enough or not is inconsequential, i don't give a rat.

there are more important things in life than worrying about WJ and LF idiots, we have global warming problems, we have a cancer epidemic, we have more ppl worshipping more inanimate pebbles and tv tubes and calling them god while business corporations literally own the armies now, so let's just put this ‘little 2009 battle’ in its proper context and be done with it, regardless of the results.

in the end, to live and fight another day, one still needs to party, have fun, get drunk and wake up with a total stranger or two in their bed the next day…

If my opponent ever wins, I will congratulate the winner, bite on my lips and sleep early.

But I will get up early as well next day, to analyze what went wrong, why we lost an election we could have easily win, and what I can do to avoid making the same mistake in 2013.

This election is not the first one and one be the last one.
We won many elections and lost many others...
But it's the first election in which FPM can sweep his opponents, and get the majority in the Parliament. We should not miss this opportunity!

Today, as I was standing in the balcony in Ashrafieh, I started hearing shouts, people yelling, singing and doing all sorts of meaningless noise... And then, as they approached my building, it became clearer that they were uttering " Ta ra ra ta ta BATIKHA"... Then I heard a "jbenet Picon" song turned to a "general Aoun flavor"... Some "3aw 3aw 3awn" ect.

Then I saw a long procession of people wearing complete scout uniforms... With a bordeau red shirt, a "beret" hat, a small striped tie around the neck, big boots and an assortement of badges... One guy was yelling the "songs" and the others followed... They walked happily all around the neighborhood...

Soon after, a group of kids on bikes, with posters of Bashir, LF and Kataeb flags and the entire ramdam, passed by, yelling, insulting, trying to make one another fall, under the tender eyes and smily faces of their proud parents behind...

I know scouting is supposed to give moral fiber and patriotic sense, to advocate the protection of nature, to teach how to live in and with nature, to teach humillity, community service and civic sense... How does what I just saw reflect that? What do these, my "compatriots", learned as scouts? Is their leader bankrupt enough to valorise his youth only through the hate and self-reassuring, verbal humiliation of his opponent? Are these young people complexed enough, frustrated enough, so as not to notice how ridiculous and vain they are?

When I see that, I can only feel disgusted... I intimately feel that the vast majority of my true compatriots chose to distance itself from such political and intelectual "racaille"... But if ever that cast of people wins, then I can only despair of the stupidity of my people... The events of these past 3 years are clear enough and flagrant enough, the masks are low enough for everyone to see the truth of each leader and his intentions... If despite all that happened, people make the wrong choice, then nothing will make them budge the next time... I will then start distancing myself from a people which do not deserve my dedication, and that of the leader I support...

Those kids are free of guilt, until they grow thick mustaches or get pregnant and start to practically implement the same hatred they now sing by ways of genetic reproduction.

If you substitute 'nature' with jungle, leader with 'King Kong', scouting with "houga mouga..errrgh.. hou2 hou2" and humility with jumping trees, you'll enjoy more the moving zoo..

Those were not kids unfortunately... They seemed rather grown up, around 18 years old, and some were young adults in their 20's !

That detail makes the whole thing even more sad to contemplate...

But you're right, I'll take the "kid" title as a mental status and should watch the zoo with benevolence...
