Joumana Gebara is the daughter of an Italian-French mother and a Lebanese father but German citizen. She is a divorced single mother of three children, two sons and a daughter.

After her degree in business studies she is unemployed in Germany. The Federal Employment Service (Arbeitsamt) finances her job search in Italy based upon the European Agreement for free job and domicile choice in Europe. She successfully signs an unlimited contract and gets a job in a well-known company in Bolzano.

Since Joumana is a single mother and two of her children can neither remain with the father while she is searching for an apartment nor can they be exempted from school attend, the Jugendamt finances a childminder to take care of the children for the 3 weeks period of house-hunting.

The fathers of her children with whom Joumana Gebara exercises common custody agree on the relocation. The night care costs are to be paid by Joumana while the Jugendamt approves to carry the costs for the day care only. The removal is organized. The children are unsubscribed from school and all other sports clubs. Everything is prepared for the new beginning in Bolzano.

Nobody warns the mother that she is at highest risk to lose her children if she removes. Each time she calls from Italy to the childminder or the Jugendamt everyone assures her that everything is alright. Even still then, when the Jugendamt had already abducted the children.

When Joumana Gebara rents a flat in Bolzano days before expiration of the time agreed upon with Jugendamt and travels back to Germany, in order to pick up her children, she only finds her daughter there. The two younger sons had disappeared.

All what the desperate mother can find out is that the Jugendamt has abducted her older son and placed him in an unknown care family. The younger son was assigned to his father.

Although no judicial decision is provided for the children abduction from the motherly family, Joumana Gebara does not find out why her children were abducted and where to her older son was brought.

A high-dramatic, emotional led fight begins for the mother against the Jugendamt to get back her two sons.

Only weeks later, on the occasion of the first court hearing, in which the German family court finally examines, whether the abduction of the two children from the motherly family was legal and who is to receive the provisional custody, the Jugendamt for the first time asserts the reasons for the children rape.

The responsible Jugendamt functionary is of the opinion that the employment of the mother is against the child well-being, since the mother does not care for her children during her working time but leaves the children in a children day care or to a childminder to care for and therefore the children were neglected. In addition he alleged that the mother has abandoned her children in Germany and never had the intention to take them with her to Italy.

The black despaired objection of the mother is dismissed from the German court. Moreover the Court refuses to hear the daughter's testimony. The written documents of the agreement done between mother and Jugendamt remain unvalued from the court. To the press the Jugendamt speaker declares that the mother didn't make any arrangement with the Jugendamt before her departure.

Later on the Jugendamt alleges to the Police youth authority department in Bolzano, that it doesn't plays a role whether Joumana Gebara is a good or a bad mother. The removal of the German children to Italy is against the child well-being.

Briefly before Christmas 2004 the German family court punishes Joumana Gebara for working and takes from her the parental custody for both of her 6 and 7 years old sons. She is not allowed to see her children nor contact them in any way not to mention that she is not authorized to take her children with her to Italy. Moreover no one reveals the whereabouts of her older son.

Mother and children go through hell.

But finally what no one would have considered possible happens: Joumana meets the French Olivier Karrer, President of the French parents association CEED in Paris and father of a son abducted by the mother to Germany whom he is not allowed to see by German family court decision, because the German mother is afraid the child would have to return to France.

Joumana Gebara wins in Olivier Karrer an adept advisor and courageous helper, who connects her to networks, accompanies her to authorities and lawyers, charges the Jugendamt for child abduction in the name of his association charge and finally plans and executes with her the return of her child.

When the secretive whereabouts of her older son are revealed through a wide searching action, together they accomplish the return of her son from Germany to Bolzano. Weeks later and through the aid of another helper from the USA, Joumana carries on her own account another action and gets back her second son.

Which experience the two children befell in Germany, published in the book, are heart-breaking documents of mental cruelty, which were committed under the cover of the "child well-being".

When the so far the last Court hearing in front of the Italian Family Court for the handing out of the younger child to the German father took place, the Court abided to the imploratory request of the small boy not to be taken away from his family, his mummy, his sister, his brother and his friends at home in Italy.

The "Case Gebara" isn't a unique case in Germany.

German and foreign self-help organizations of parents and grandparents, whom the German Jugendamt and Family Court has taken away their children and grand-children, have complained massively against the praxis of such administrations, which tear out children from their own families and forbid each contact between parents / grand - parents and children, administrations which boycott Court decisions allowing a single-parent to visit his child and those same administrations who prevent binational children from living outside Germany.

In the past ten years around two million parents lost their children in Germany through official court decisions for a single parent. In addition to the estimated number of unreported cases of children resulted from unmarried couples. And each year thousands of new cases are added.

The governments of the USA, Great Britain and France already violently protested against this family jurisdiction. But the quotation of Jacques Chirac, who defined the German family law as "law of the jungle", are still applied till today in Germany. Even German officials the Jugendamt was described in a conference ten years ago as a "Kinderklaubehoerde" (child rapt administration).

Since Joumana Gebara and her children received full supported from the Youth Authorities and Family Court in Italy and SudTyrol to accordingly offer her and her children to live together, we decided to set the first book presentation in Bolzano.

i wonder what sort of tachhir and iftira2 did the "MAJHOUL" spread about Baria Ahmar Sreih ? how come they arrested Joumana while the da3wa was on MAJHOUL ...
maybe Joumana touched a very sensitif point in Baria's personal/profesional life ?
Joumana seems to have a lot of infos maybe her infos are scaring/disturbing/jeopardinzing "some people's well being" thats why it was imperative to get rid of Joumana ?

It sounds like to me that her demeanor is being scrutinized by media pundits and through blackmailing practices. Knowing her briefly, I would doubt that Joumana would attempt to behave unethically. It is obvious that this whole shebang was designed to frighten her, for perhaps being vocal.
