To be honest, I doubt HA subscribes to the entire "right of return" mantra regarding the Palestinian refugees. They are adept at sounding diplomatic but deep down they could anticipate any potential sectarian antagonism (like that of the bearded fellow) of the majority of the current 600 000 plus Palestinian refugees. Their rejection of Palestinian naturalization does not have a philanthropic or moral basis but rather a purely instinctual, if sectarian one. |
They arent dumb to believe they can liberate Jerusalem, theyve always used
these slogans and fiery speeches about the Palestenians thinking that they
would get some Arab political support for once. The Arab regimes coverage
for Israel's war on Lebanon in 2006 was sort of appaling to HA's leadership,
thats why SHN started attacking those regimes publically for the first time,
and that explains what they did in Egypt.
We should always go back to July war events and notice the disgusting systematic
bombardment of the south that led to the displacement 1 million shiite from
the south and other places.
The Arab regimes and the Israelis had common interests in launching this war:
- finishing off any sort of armed resistance to Israel's hegemony in the region
- the displacement of the shiites to Iraq and Syria
- the easiest way to naturalise the palestenians
HA knows that the heavily armed palestenians in the camps arent there to
liberate Palestine, but they will be used sooner or later to fight them. This
is why I believe that the future is very bleak, the arab regimes might inflame
the camps and the next war would be a palestenian/HA one and HA would
have to fight on several fronts and Israel would greatly benefit from it.
