we cant reach fair peace with Israel if we dont have a balance of power that would
help Lebanon in any future breaches of that agreement. The Israelis can impose anything
they want on Jordan and Egypt simply because these countries are very weak. They
can ***** them in gas trade pacts,water, land etc...A peace deal is still far from reach,
simply because Lebanon cant sign unless Syria signs, and Syria cant sign before the
Palestenians do!
We always hear about Syrian-Israeli talks, but talks are just talks, Theyve been negotiating since the 1990s during Bill Clintons reign.
Syria used to get paid just to sit on a table and have talks with the Israelis, which gave some credibility to the US approach for "peace" in the middle east back then.
Some of our politicans predict that Hizbolla ends when Syria signs a peace deal with
Israel. This is far from reach but they have to know that even allies dont show all
of their strong cards. Hizbolla is now a bigger force than Syria in the region, and Syria
can negotiate with the Hamas card, not the Hizbolla one.
Israel is not ready for peace, god knows if they even wish for it.
As for Hizballah, I hope they don't fall in the arrogance mistake. Hizballah's strength is in their capability to defend against any israeli aggression, and not to wipe off Israel from the map.
Hisballah's leadership has proved many times now about high degree of intelligence in dealing with Israel, so I don't think they will fall in the arrogance trap.
I guess Hisballah's huge support in Lebanon is coming from the fact that it presents security to a very big part of the Lebanese. Security against Israel and its terror, and security against any kind of danger coming from the outside (mainly naturalisation of the palestinians).
If Israel attacks, then we are all behind Hisballah in order to teach the Israelis another lesson, but if Hisballah is the aggressor this time, I think not a lot of Lebanese people will be accepting it.

bas ya watani israel is the one that launches the wars. regardless, HA are getting stronger and their military strategies are improving by the sec. => their chances of losing are going down. just check out the weapons they used in 1993, 1996, and 2006 and the output of the wars on both lebanon as a whole (HA more specifically) and on israel.
HA's main goal is defend lebanon by what's so-called the "balance of powers" as the US isn't hesitating to supply israel with state-of-the-art weapons.
and just a quick question, if the resistance lost a war ( lebanon will be the ultimate loser eventually) what would you think the israelis would do? do you think they will leave us alone? won't they start occupying the land and steal water again? will lebanese live in safer environment? will lebanon be better-off without any resistance?

This is very true. even if HA were able to liberate Jerusalem, arab clergy men (well not all of them) would start yelling and threatening and BSing on the danger of shi'ism the same way kabani was doing on May 7th. for example, sheflak hal mou3ak from Gaza during the last israeli war on Gaza on HAMAS TV (and yes the host didn't stop him):

Not just HA considered July war as a victory.
We also did.
I was talking about another kind of wars.
We as humans and Lebanese we have no enmity with anyone.
Myself, as a Christian, it is FORBIDDEN TO HATE anybody as simple as that.
I can't hate anyother human because afterall.. we are all the children of God.
God does NOT HAVE ANY PREFERENCE... and each one of us will be judged for his acts.
It is wrong to beleive that God takes sides with humans against other humans.
God created the Lebanese, Israelis and this whole world.
Having said that - we are still ready for war if we are attacked AND if our rightsare not respected.
Respect us and you will get peace -
- Take back Palestinian in Lebanon
- Give back our remaining occupied lands
- Swap prisoneers

Now it might be wrong to quote from their religious book but lets take one step back and think of the bolded sentences in Red, Don't they apply to what they are doing to the palestinians in Gaza and west bank and to us for more than 20 years, actually since they occupied palestine in 1948?
We have never been aggressors towards anyone, yes we are the people who invented the word "PEACE" and they crucified it. Let the Jews in occupied Palestine know that this Land is ours, its the land of our ancestors, land of our messiah and in Gods strength we will defend it with our souls.
