Default How to confront arab public - 23rd February 2005

I think we should also campaign towards arab public. This public is largely missinformed by its government propaganda on the lebanese situation. They are mixing things up.
My thought is that Arabs do not have the right to give us any lessons. We are giving the lessons here!
not a single arab people ever dared to do what we are doing today and they all live under dictatorships... They don't know what democracie is, they don't know what freedom is. Their perception of both notions has been altered by a lot of regime propaganda to justify the opression of their people. It has been going on for so long that they now blieve all the lies they have been told.
So my advice to all the arab world... watch listen and learn how to become free... this is a lesson from the lebanese people to the Arab world, maybe one day you will wake up

la3youn rafic
indeed the arab public is largely missinformed by its government propaganda on the lebanese issues.
i think all the opposition regroupements should have a stable presence in the arab countries where we have a lebanese diaspora. (in most european country they have representative bureau...)
only an organised work can have good results otherwise all our reactions will remain as individuals, for them.

i think there is a beginning of good perception by the arab people...and the signs are...the 2 votings on aljazeera concerning the syrian pullout from lebanon

the 1st one 2 month ago gave a 66% yes for the pullout and the second one a week ago gave a 77% yes for the pullout

but there is a big job left to do

The dictator's only friend and supporter is another dictator.

I think this is due on arab government's propaganda, and a lot on false and misleading media, such as aljazeera, which lately in my opinion was very insulting to us Lebanese as a whole, and to HE prime minister Rafik Hariri's (RIP) assasination.

How to confront that dear La3youn Rafik, well it is a hard thing to do and it needs a lot of studies about it. My first thoughts are to promote our cause wherever we can personally, but believe me some of the arabs today are very mislead about syria's role in Lebanon.

P.S. I was called 2 days ago a "sahyoune & mouta3asseb" by a lybian (with high degrees of education) just because I mentioned that syria and not israel killed PM Hariri.

Its not the first of AlJazeera's transgressions.
La3youn Rafik, even when arab governments took steps to get involved in lebanon, they ended up either retreating or even only providing doors for even more syrian occupation.
And when they sponsored and guaranteed deals, theyd back away the next day.
Lets turn to international law, even if arab populations are convinced theres not much they can do to us, theyd have their own trouble first.
