Let me tell you how I see things. The Saudi/US/Israeli conspiracy is going to pass even over our dead bodies. Palestinian issue will be allegedly solved on their and own expense. On the big geopolitical chess game we are nothing but a small detail. having hypocrites as leaders and having idiots and stupid dumb politicians and puppets like Hariri is making the enemy job easier. Does anybody with a shred of logic doubt that the US/israel support for a certain faction in Lebanon is because anything other than the benefit of their interest and liquidating the palestinian cause?

Making Iran as the enemy and marginalizing the Christians who are the only one who might object on naturalization is for what?

Simple logic and not much deeper than the surface and anybody with a shred of logic will figure it out.

This si what I have to say. I urge you all to stop whining and crying about the election and start blaming HA or Amal or whoever. Focus on what is coming and I am not saying try to stop it because you can not but focus on minimizing the damage.

I have not been posting for a while after election because I am waiting for this whining party to end and members regain their senses to start talking to them.

Default Hezbollah & Hariri honeymoon - 15th June 2009

first i have to clarify that im an opposition supporter, and a strong believer in the resistance... BUT i have to add... resistance and corruption cannot co-exist.

Let us go back to the past 15 years MP Raad is talking about. The resistance was in its best shape, fighting in the south against the occupiers, Rafiq Hariri was in Beirut, raping and stealing the country. National Debt jumped 10 fold, educated people left the country, unemployment rates increased. Hezbollah was sitting aside, watching... they did not steal, but they did not oppose stealing. This was a deal between them and Hariri and the syrians at the time. Let us keep our weapons and fight israel, we will leave the government matters to you and turn the blind eye....

Now they are telling Hariri the 2nd, lets resume what was going on with your dad. U can steal and turn the country into Saudi Arabia, while we sit aside, keep our weapons, and defend the country.

For the past 3 years Hezbollah started criticizing the corruption of the Hariri clan, they will soon stop doing that, as long as he confirms what he said the day after the elections, and keeps his mouth shut about the weapons. I want to remind Hezbollah that : الساكت عن الحق شيطان أخرس

Once a thief, always a thief... once corrupt ALWAYS corrupt. We should all oppose this dirty political deal... because soon, Hezbollah will find himself defending a land that no1 wants.

GMA and others can deny it all they want, but this whole election looks fishy as hell.

They transfer 10,000 to Zahle and noone says a word.

They bring 100,000 from abroad and noone moves a muscle to try and counter that.

The results are in and the next second everyone is getting along.

The outcome is the result of a regional deal and unfortunately what you say may turn out to be true.

Best case scenario is that the round has been postponed.

GMA would have ruined everyones plans so he will be marginalised as mucha s they can in favor of the president.

Rekbit el Terkibeh bi lebnen yet again

Teb what would the solution be? breaking free of our alliances (while maintaining a certain relationship with some of our allies) and starting over? cuz that seems like a logical thing to do...

fair enough

HA isnt actively opposing the corruption, but arent partaking in it either. The way I see it, corruption is still rampant across the country. If you're going to fight it, you ally with the lesser of two evils. The fact that HA turns a blind eye towards corruption still makes them better than those spearheading the whole thing.

I believe HA would be committing a huge mistake if they do so because:

1- it's against their beliefs (and obviously not only theirs, but also any rational and sane person's beliefs) and by covering corruption IN THIS PERIOD, they would be simply be part of it and, thus, violating these beliefs. HA would certainly lose some credibility especially that SHN, Kassem, their MPs, ministers, media,.... have been harshly attacking corruption for the past 3 years at least.

2- it would look like they backstabbed their allies in the opposition who stood with them behind the corruption-free government and system principles and slogans.

So, I really hope that HA's actions in the upcoming government formation consultations prove that these speculations are plain wrong. I believe that they can achieve this by sticking to their (and obviously the whole opposition's ) 1/3 share of the government request or just not participate at all. Being part of a government without "veto"-powers would be a destructive and devastating action to the opposition as a whole.

In the sectarian Lebanon and the existing balance of power, the last elections completely marginalized Christians. Feb 14th Christians can't change a comma in the future bayan wizare. They have no choice but to rely on Saad's good will for the wizart Saad is going to give them.

In the opposition side, if we had won the elections with a 35 FPM deputies (the absolute majority of christian MPs), Aoun would have got the role and power of Sheikh Saad. Unfortunately, Aoun didn't get the majority of Christian MPs. So FPM has no choice but to rely on HA loyalty.

The Lebanese Christians who are always whining that they have been marginalized since Taef had the opportunity to change the course of things. Perhaps it is better. At least the Batrak thinks so since he considers that Aoun getting the majority of christian MPs would have led to a syrian iranian hegemony.

PS: HA had no power on the result of elections in Batroon, Beirut 1 and Zahle.
