This is a simple yet very important Yes or No Poll
Regardless of how u identify yourself politically, have u come to the conclusion that debating politics with others in Lebanon is seriously a hopeless going nowhere case of time wasting?
Me i have come to that conclusion, & i am sure i'm not the only one
It's just a waste of breath, not because politicians don't consider our input, no but because Lebanese and common logic can't be put side to side on the same sentence.
I don't expect people to agree so the fact that Lebanese never agree is not the problem.
The problem is that basic basic VERY BASIC things can't be agreed on.
Such as who won what where..
And who said what on TV while it WAS RECORDED LIVE FOR EVERYONE TO LISTEN to.
Khalas, i lost hope in constructive political debate because Lebanese can't find a common logic axiom on very very basic things. So i'm voting YES.
Almost everybody just likes to be the prophetic preacher who can't get the simplest message through and almost everybody has hearing and vision problems.
So guys regardless who u are and who is making u feel this way, just vote cuz do u think after all said and done a million times over we reached the hopeless pointless debate stage in Lebanese history ?
I hear some say a new perspective is needed, i don't believe that.
I believe Lebanese don't know what basic argumentative logic means in the first place so that's pretty much the gist of the problem.
I also believe ancient Greeks had a billion times more common sense than us.
Statistically the result of the poll should convey the deep rooted problem of Lebanese society as a whole and from there more conclusions can be drawn about the future of our strange societies and magical national entity that is based on individual detachment from reality. | | | | | The Following 6 Users Say Thank You to Red Phoenix For This Useful Post: | | | Registered Member

Principles of Dialogue:

By the simple fact that someone still cares enough to ask this question, no I haven't lost hope in constructive political debate.
There are quite a few constructive political debates out there, they are unfortunately shadowed by the useless jabbering, however they are there.

Not to generalize but,
I never had high hopes in Lebanese, to start with...Now I don't even have low hopes in them.
Kind of boring people with boring concerns and boring debates... and nothing much to offer to mankind. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Abou Sandal For This Useful Post: | | | Orange Room Supporter

i wish i have something optimistic to say to lift up the spirits of everybody but i dont
i am one who likes logical debates more than i like defending things, i like the challenge of good logic pitted again good logic in a battle for rhetorical excellence
but this is not the case with the lebanese, it never was
with the lebanese it’s a goat head butting practice of excellence
so while it was fun while it lasted ultimately it proved to be a waste of time and human resources on a grand scale worse than the aborted russian moon program
instead of going somewhere with the debate the whole thing turned with time into a quicksand pit where every word drowns and dies ultimately surrounded by a cacophony chorus of unhinged spectator cheers as if in a depraved roman gladiatorial Colosseum
what’s the point in talking to start with if two ppl can’t agree on whether they are both humans and not just aliens in disguise | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

How can you debate with someone spent all his life licking boots, and then in a flashing moment of light, this someone starts to accuse you of being Souri Irani(wba3da ta3mit hel jazmeh ma ra7it min Ni3o)?
How can you have a constructive debate with (Wazawiz, zo3ran, militia men)?
How can you have a constructive debate with Liars?
How can you have a constructive debate with people following a murderer and portraying him as a saint?
How can you have a constructive debate with someone trying with all his means to eliminate you from the country?
How can you have a constructive debate with someone saying ''we don't want you in the country, it's just becuase of HA and its weapons, we accepted to give you some rights''?
Should I continue?
So a big YESSS, a constructive political debate is an illusion. | | | | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to BOILER For This Useful Post: | | | | |
