Hizbullah used weapons internally to destabilize and control Lebanon as well as externally in arab and non-arab countries. Hizbullah is a big lying machine. We keep repeating that Hizbullah's weapons is the #1 issue, and they must be disarmed along with other armed militias be it from M8, M14, or from whomever.

Elie | Ok great !! Let's assume the above is true. And HA refuses to give up their arms for whatever arguments or reasons they have, any ideas on how you are planning on disarming them !! | | | | | Registered Member

The ideas ranged from total confrontation (bad option) to some sort of integration with the army (e.g., joint defense, a separate nimble HA group under Army command, etc...). Regardeless of what path we chose, I strongly believe that the government should give HA an ultimatum with a defined time period (like 1 year). If Hizbullah doesn't agree to proposed ideas which lead to disarmament, then "as a starter" they cannot run for parliament nor hold any governmental positions. In other words, we should deny them any participation in the government as long as they view themselves as a military resistance. I believe that stance by the government will deny HA any appropriation from the government and will diminish their popular support among the Shiites (it may also create backlash). Of course, HA still get funding directly from Iran and other sources and we should go after those as well. These government stances may lead to confrontation anyway which is the thing we are trying to avoid from the beginning....so the question is, for how long do we postpone the eventual? How long do we live in this dual-state?

Elie | I would have taken your post as geniuine, if I didn't know you were a supporter of the Ja3ja3 Lebanese forces. You cannot preach for peace on one side, and support a killing war machine on the other.
You were bay bayya for 4 years now, why didn't the government that you were the aktariye in it apply what you are asking us here to do in the forum? Plus, what will the next government have, that was lacking in the previous one, which will put it in a better position to apply what you are asking here? | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

Most people attack our posts based on the ID of the messenger and not necessarily the message...but then again, I am proud of my LF belonging and what the cedar and the red circle represent. So it's kind of a package deal...
