Default Hariri accepted defeat? - 23rd January 2009

Few months ago, Hariri and his satellites were talking about having 128 Valentino candidates all over Lebanon, suddenly in the past couple of weeks the whole thing changed, they no longer want to present 128 Valentino candidates, they now decided to change from being a Valentino to be a Murrist (Centrist ya3ne) and want the President to form the lists along with Michel el Murr and they will support those lists.

The bitters are launching posters with Michel Sleimen in the posters and saying that he is part of their electoral group!

Michel el Murr visiting Saad el Hariri and sitting where Samir Geagea and Amine Gemayel used to sit few months ago.

So there is no more "14 March", "Cedar Revolution", "I love life".

They already declared defeat and relying on Michel Sleimen to run against the Change and Reform lists.

I have a very bad feeling about this, i was expecting a entertaining elections, now it will be boring and without any taste or competition.

Anyway i added this poll to see what the members think?

I have some fears as I can smell this dirty game. I think President Sleiman should express clearly that he is not supporting any centrist. If president Sleiman remain silent then it is a dirty game and his part of it. what you guys think?

Money + Power = Corruption ... It is extremely hard to figth it anywhere in the world, let alone Lebanon...

I would suggest you add GMA himself to the pool... He is the one I fear the most. Pressure from a coalition of Batrak, Sleiman, Berry, etc. could be too much again and he might back off (we've seen it in Feb 1989 when he should have finished off the Becharre thugs, again in Q4 1989...)

A strong and capable President would've issued clear statements forbidding any party from using his name in any campaign, but....

As to the poll of this thread, what I fear most is "None of the above", but rather I fear the overconfidence of FPMers.

I just hope Sleiman lets the office of the presidency be used in the elections... he won't be president anymore in 2011.

But again, for the millionth time, Sleiman ain't got what it takes to dare challenge Aoun and risk losing what he was given. Sleiman doesn't try to get... it's too much work and risk. He just takes what he's given.

I say, again, he will sooner or later feel compelled to make a statement that he stands at an equal distance from all parties. This is the Sleiman I know: inodore, incolore, et sans saveur.

I have challenged anyone to bet me on this... and I have yet to find a taker. Any takers?

Maybe Shadow????

Exactly, FPMers overconfidence is the true and real threat, especially if all of them want to become deputies. Sorry X, I don't think the elections will be boring, they are a real challenge, and FPMers have to work day and night. After all we barely won it in Metn - 2007.
