GMA's appearances are being used against him regardless of what he says, the good parts will be simply swiped away, and the media will focus on the bad parts and the tongue slips. if there is anything important to convey and requires GMA to make a personal appearance, then a stand alone press conference should be called. | I prefer weekly meetings with weekly written press releases, no need for a conference.

You don't hear Pauline Marois heading all the press conferences of the PQ
You don't hear her answering every single politician who attacks her
Hell, you don't see Hassan Nasrallah answering everyone in Lebanon, anytime someone criticizes him.
When the leader talks, everybody should be there to listen to him.
In the first couple of months, whenever Michel Aoun was heading a press conference or was being interviewed, the whole country used to stop to listen to him.
Now he's everywhere, it diminishes his importance.
As to the other details, he doesn't need to answer every single person who criticizes him. He has his "lieutenants" who could take care of it. There's some sort of protocol or even way of dealing with this stuff.
By answering a "second rate" politician like Fatfat, it means that you're placing the leader at the same level as this guy.
Even when another leader criticizes you, unless it's something HUGE, you let your second, third or fourth in command (or even any MP or party official) answer him
Ba3den, please spare us the "loyalists campaigns are getting to you", la2anno it's very insulting.
It's like we can't criticize our own party anymore without being branded as brainwashed | It seems the tactics of 14Feb are corrosive.
Can you guys specifically point out what you don't like in his press conference instead of saying he's attacking everybody? | | | | | Registered Member

Appearing every week live on TV increases the chance for any politician to be dragged into mistakes by the media...
Giving a press release to a newspaper every week, like Jumblat does is much better and healthier... This way the politician can address the people but at the same time big number of advisors can help him to write the press release...
IMHO, FPM soon will be in a position to elect a leader and if it continues this way, that will be the most difficult task... The work should begin now...
Thank you!! | 100% agree. it will also give these MPs a chance to grow and learn and show their value and who knows, maybe one of them will surprise us with his/her charisma or public presence. | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

A press conference could be held monthly or when something important happens | no. we need to have someone friendly, smart and appealing, that would serve to consolidate a positive image for FPM. but again, this should all fall within a complete media rescue package. some MPs also should be given classes and guidance about public appearances, speeches, and interviews. in lebanon what you say doesn't matter. how you say it makes all the difference. | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Dark Angel For This Useful Post: | | | Registered Member

I am sure he will come out a different man :-)
On a serious note, I hate to admit it but GMA is right when he asked about all these visits by ambassadors to Lebanese politicians and head of political parties! no other country in the world where ambassadors visit local politicians on a continous basis.... that's not the primary job of an ambassador or a Lebanese politician!! I know it has been said a thousand times, but this is direct interference in internal lebanese affairs!! ambassadors should attend to their own flock and advance bi-lateral relations between "STATES" and not between certain political parties!!
