That's why i was talking about 10 years experience, not new graduate, in 10 years in Quebec you don't get the equivalent of $5000 net.
Well for 10+ exp in Lebanon the maximum you can get as an employee is 5000/month ( This if you are working in a really big company)
In Quebec, the engineers I work with now, have 8 years of experience and there salary is 110 000/year, after taxes 75 000/year aka 6250$
This is other than the bonuses they make every year ( around 15 000 and more)...

The order of Engineers of Lebanon pays you too, and they are almost the same. You need RRSP to live after 60 in Canada because what they give is as much as the order of engineers in Beirut gives you ya3ni shi 500$
Do you know how much fee you have to pay in order to stay in the order?
And here the government pays you "7asab" your yearly income...

You don't have to heat as much as you heat in here and that's a fortune in the winter of Quebec, unless you live in those miserable building in St Laurent where the ceiling falls on the garage, the heating is included there
That's not true, and even if it is, we are talking about 50$ a month difference maximum. Drink less beer in Quebec a draft costs 8$ in a bar, in there it cost 4,000LL.
hehe funny...
Anyway it doesn't matter... but I've worked here and I've worked there and met managers and project engineers and that's impression that I have...

I am sure you don't know what you are talking about. You need to check the report of the ordre des igénieurs du Quebec, it is issued every year, with report on salary average etc. and after taxes on 110k you don't net 75k whether you are engineer or not.

shi 500$ a year, i suggest if you are engineer to pay it, because you will get 500$ a month when you retire, plus insurance, plus indemnity etc.

There is a maximum and it is about $19,000 a year before Tax, that's why they allow you to get 18% of your salary in RRSP

Thank you!!
I am not talking about impressions, the numbers of the order of engineers here are open to every engineer in the order, you can look at them. Lebanon is not that bad, its problems is that it is too crowded, not safe and lots of pollution, and of course the corruption but also some people are benefiting from it because corruption means lots of corrupted. But when it comes to the quality of life, people (and again not those working in Sukleen) are getting married, they are having children, they are sending them to schools and they are making ends meet, while here you also live to make ends meet. The style of life is what makes you choose to stay here or there.

My friend Danny,
I know what I am talking about... check them out
Sorry don't have time to search for the 2008 one, but it is nearly the same...
And also when you have kids, the taxes are lower than the one in the table...
So how much will you have net after 110 000??
And most engineers after 10years of experience get between 65 and 75$/hr
I am talking about the order of engineers get your numbers right there. 110k after 10 years is wrong.
ba3den in your numbers you missed
1-Assurance Emploi.
2-Cotisation Pension.
3-Regime des Rentes du Quebec.
Tax contributions are not the only things that get deducted, you have other things to contribute to and the numbers grow
If you remember I was comparing the salaries with a deprtment manager in Lebanon...
110k was for a project manager for QC, not a general manager for a whole department.
And if you ask any project manager, you'll find out that 110k is very accurate and the minimal salary. I had 4 project managers till now, and all of them have the same range of salaries.
And as for the other contribution, they are very minimal and negligeable compared to the tax deduction, if you wish I can give you the %s. But it's really nothing compared to the whole amount deducted.

You should get the ordre des ingénieurs du QC salary report and have a look at it, it even shows project managers salaries and you will see how mistaken you are.

You don't need reports to know these kind of things, but you need to be on the ground and you can also search for jobs...

Check this out my friend:
You can do the math right?
75*40*4*12= 144 000 CAD
Thank you!!
I am not going to argue with you on one job listed on the internet, there is study by the ordre of ingénieurs de Quebec, it has the averages, by year of graduation, by field by experience etc. go get it and go through it.
We are not talking about the highest paid here nor the lowest paid, the conversation started about an engineer with 10 year experience not the engineer that is working in software solutions as a project manager on a limited contract.
well my Brother studied at LAU for 4years and now he's working in Saudi Arabia as a Mechanical engineer getting $4000/month.. and he's been working for about 3years so far.
The barrel price today fell over $2, so far fell over $13 the last 10 days
