Just a question.
Is there an online copy of the government budget? I am just wondering what the contribution of the gas tax is.

09:17 إرتفاع سعر صفيحة البنزين 98 و95 أوكتان 600 ليرة والمازوت 500 ليرة والكاز 800 ليرة والغاز 500 ليرة

Oil prices have hit a peak around 2 weeks ago (at 72 or 73$) and have fallen under 67$ since then.
And yesterday the price has risen up to 69$ (still below the peak).
Yet each week, fuel price in Lebanon is increasing.
Can someone explain why is this happening?
On what do they base the fuel price, and how do they compute it?

You can not blame everything on Sanioura even if he is to blame for many things...

Check this site for explanations: Platts

The prices went down yesterday in Europe so they should hopefully go down in Lebanon this week, and if they don’t blame Sanioura…

Taxe sur les carburants, où se situe la France ? < Pétrole - Enerzine.com

Lebanese are paying very little taxes comparing to other countries
Lebanese Prices:
1lit= 1370LL
Taxes+TVA= 600LL/lit = 0.28 euros
that makes about 45% of the price
we pay less taxes then Greece on the chart above

The problem in Lebanon is that your taxes are used to pay the interest of the debt. At least 60% of the Lebanese state income goes to the debt, while in Europe many countries use the gasoline taxes to infrastructure project.
