It is inevitable that an overall inter-christian reconciliation occur, to present a unified front on the issues that affect our national interests, particularly when 'Others' are Less interested in our national identity and are too busy implementing foreign agendas.
I hope what you are saying will be true.
But do you think that hypocrite fanatics like Samy Gmayel are up to such task of unifying and leading the christians.
Some christians tend to think that our problem is the "others", but the ugly reality is that the christian ruling class of feudal families is the christians worst enemmy.

You should ask some kataeb militants what Samy said and is saying about FPM and Aoun in kataeb meetings...

Samy is like Amine.

Their meeting is about survival, i hope Frangieh will not bow too much for his survival.
LF is a minority party, even among the Christians (I won’t even go into how Muslims feel about it); it can never hope to be anything other than a provisional one. It needs animosity between Christians and Muslims, Muslims and Muslims, and Christians and Christians to survive. Geagea’s dream of being the next president after Suleiman is just that: a dream. If you’re looking for future Lebanese Chrstian leaders outside FPM, which is very difficult when you see the calibre of those in the FPM, then look no further than Franjiyeh. Kataeb and LF are the past: Hariri is their lifeline (and as you know alliances in Lebanese politics shift as easy as the sands in his native Saudi Arabia); 2009 election results will tell you that without much analysis.

The whole point of the meeting(s) is because the Christians of M14 are trying to isolate the FPM. It is for the same reason that George Adwan is looking for LF – Marada reconciliation. Also the same reason that Jumblatt and then Hariri visited Hassan Nassrallah. The idea is for all Christian groupings, bar Michel Aoun, to reconcile, particularly under the wing of the Patriarch, and then claim to the Lebanese Christian and Muslim population that the government can now legitimately ignore the FPM.

A Lebanese MP is nothing. Any clown can be an MP, just look at the circus we have now.

Of course he wants to be president. Have you listened to the interviews of his “political advisor” George Adwan? Common sense tells you that a man who was looking to divide Lebanon and become leader of a “Christian Lebanon”, do you not think he wants to be president? Also at this point in time he claims to be the undisputed leader of the Christians; so logically he would want to be their president.

Frangieh is Pro-FPM, but before that he is Pro-Christian. The man accepted to reconcile with Geagea in 2005 based on a request from Aoun in order to bring the Christians back together. It was Geagea or some 'brain' around him who managed to abort the monumental reconciliation move by Frangieh. Thus, 'rodi el 2atil w ma rodi el 2atil'. After that, Frangieh refused to reconcile with Geagea except under the leadership of Aoun in order not to undermine Aoun's position, contrary to Geagea's and all the 14ners intentions from such reconciliation.

Still, with all the above maneuvering, the Christians’ well being is the objective, not Aoun or FPM, with all due respect. There has to be a time where the Christians take positive steps toward each other. And history taught us (in Lozan and recently) that the Frangieh(s) would not intentionally do moves for the wrong reasons, especially when it comes to the Christians’ well being. Having said that, I would be surprised if this maneuver was not coordinated with Aoun espcially that Frangieh sits with him on the table during the weekly C&R block meetings. And even if it wasn't, give the man some credit and have a little faith in him.

I thought at first it was Amine Gemayel meeting with Frangieh.

Then I saw the pics on tayyar.org, I guess I'm not used to mini Gemayel being in the news yet.
