I totally agree. not only bcs of the marginal role of LF, rather for the new electoral distribution. they had a superpower behind them.

halla2 kel wa7ad khayef 3a 7alo. I see SG and AG calling GMA and nayla mouawad visting Franjieh.

I think that in this 8-month long cabinet, FPM should not worry too much about "work" ministries coz you can do soo much in 8 months... As you know Cabinet will be dissolved as soon as parliament gets new MPs... So FPM should focus on ministries that might negatively affect elections:

1- INTERIOR... should make sure it goes to someone 3an JAD neutral [any ideas about someone close to GMS and neutral?]
2- Information... to make sure news media are not abusing their privileges
3- Judiciary--- in case there will be challenges [tu3oon] before Constitutional Council
BY THE WAY, FPM should DEFINITELY call for reinstitution of Constitutional Council BEFORE elections.

As for who should get what, Information should go to Pierre Raffoul or Sleiman Franjieh or the Marada woman [forgot her name], who is very eloquent on TV

Judiciary should either go to Aoun himself or Salim Azar, who is known as probably the best and fairest judge that the country ever had.... and is respected by all sides for that.

After elections, FPM should drop Information Ministry for something with more impact on the ground.

muhajareen for Hikmat Deeb is GREAT choice.

If we are getting MPs in Ministry positions and if FPM will get a Shia, I would like to see ABBAS HASHEM in a post. I LOVE THIS MAN! He is sooo smart/sharp/educated, sooo elegant and so loyal to GMA.

ya 3ammi Kattar is not that good..in the ministry of finance he didn't do anything...he's just a show off guy!!!Plz can anyone explain what he did in those 3 months??

Also he said that he wants robert ghanem as president...I don't trust him!!!A neutral minister would be one like....hmmm lets say...is there any neutral politician in Lebanon?

During the 1968 elections, Sleimen Frangieh was minister of the interior. He wasn't that neutral back then, but was accepted by both the chehabiyye and Chamoun, Edde, Gemayel...so we'll need someone like that...
In 1972, the ex finance minister Elias Saba did the elections instead of the minister of the interior because he wasn't running for the elections!
So something like that must take place...

NB: the 1968 and 1972 elections were the best ones in the whole lebanese history!

True, the new electoral law forces the Christian loyalists to make the call, should they stick to FM and WJ and live on the bread crumbs they feed them, or break free and fight their battle in the midst of the Christian voters?

while living in the shadows of WJ and Hariri works fine for complete nobodies like Nayla & Dori Chamoun, it doesn't work well for larger parties like Phalanges and LF. even though the Phalanges are better poised than LF for a more even alliance the loyalists due to the demographics of their regions of influence.

The LF is in a tougher spot as their alliances can only be a burden to them in the upcoming 2009 elections. So if they decide to go for the schism it will be first indicated during the formation of the next government.

but here is the twist, can the LF survive yet another acrobatic move? after all, SG is no WJ!!

Salim el Azar is one of the best judges in Lebanon. I'm afraid he's too old for becoming a minister:((((( but if he's appointed he'll do an excellent job!!I know him personally..a really gr8 man!

Default The Arrogant Frog and the Superior Bull - 22nd May 2008

Once, on a time and in a place
Conducive to malaria,
There lived a member of the race
Of Rana Temporaria;
Or, more concisely still, a frog
Inhabited a certain bog.

A bull of Brobdingnagian size,
Too proud for condescension,
One morning chanced to cast his eyes
Upon the frog I mention;
And, being to the manner born,
Surveyed him with a lofty scorn.

Perceiving this, the bactrian’s frame
With anger was inflated,
Till, growing larger, he became
Egregiously elated;
For inspiration’s sudden spell
Had pointed out a way to swell.

“Ha! ha!” he proudly cried, “a fig
For this, your mammoth torso!
Just watch me while I grow as big
As you—or even more so!”
To which magniloquential gush
His bullship simply answered “Tush!”

Alas! the frog’s success was slight,
Which really was a wonder,
In view of how with main and might
He strove to grow rotunder!
And, standing patiently the while,
The bull displayed a quiet smile.

But ah, the frog tried once too oft
And, doing so, he busted;
Whereat the bull discreetly coughed
And moved away, disgusted,
As well he might, considering
The wretched taste that marked the thing.

THE MORAL: Everybody knows
How ill a wind it is that blows.

i know he is too old... but for an 8-months cabinet, he can set things on the right track and makes things easier for a younger guy to take over in the next 4-year cabinet. [His reputation scares the corrupt people sooo much, that merely by appointing him as judicial minister, I woudl expect a LOT of corrupt judges to resign... making the work a lot easier :)]

I always thought that GMA and Salim Azar were born too early for Lebanon. If only they were both born 10 years later... we could be benefiting more from both of them.

Ministry of Justice: Selim azar or someone with the same caliber but a bit younger
Ministry of Environment (this one is the most important one in my op.): I should take the portolio
Ministry of muhajjareen: GMa himself

As for tashnag they should take the ministry of Telecomunications.

Skaff agriculture.
