FPM and the government's portfolios

I think that GMA should be one of the ministers. Its time for all the leaders to hold these positions to be accountable. I think it will be great for him to start this trend. One clean ministry can go along way for the country.

- Saadallah el Khoury or Selim Azar, Justice
- Issam Abou Jamra, Defense
- Hikmat Dib, Mouhajjareen

Plus (1) Skaff Bloc, Agriculture
and (1) Tashnaq, Environment.

I've heard that FPM might get the Justice and Defense ministries, i'm not sure about the third one. Skaff would get the Agri., i'm not sure what portfolio would Tashnag get.

I don't think that the ministry of defense is the best choice..

If ministry of interior is for the president, I'd rather go for:
- Ministry of Justice : Abou Jamra.
- Ministry of Education: Simon Abi Ramia
- Ministry of Tourism: Ramzi Kanj
- Ministry of Agriculture: Skaf
- Ministry of Industry: Tachnag

FPM should aim for the justice and the media ministries; the media has been inflicting so much damage on everybody and has been running unchecked for a long time now and transcended the boundaries of freedom of speech into falsifications, insults and inducing hatred. the media outlets should be forced to abide by the laws, and FPM can close the loop by combining efforts between the media and the justice departments. the judicial ministry is also essential to FPM's anticorruption and law oriented vision.

we are about to undergo a new election in 2009, and there is no reason to think the propaganda campaigns will stop in there track just because an agreement was brokered in Qatar; if anything, they will intensify to further brainwash the masses; and we need to keep the penny media (for the lack of a better description) in check.

that said, i am having doubts that it is a done deal, there may be a painful process awaiting us when it comes to forming the government, and we may be stuck with tourism & social affairs.

a dramatic chapter is going to enfold within Feb14 though, now they potentially have 8 less places for Christian loyalists in a government of 30; can hariri keep his Christian followers satisfied? can the LF survive without the ministry of tourism? will we ever get to hear Nayla Mouawad give a another ground shaking speech?
