Although I like Jibran Bassil as an activist, I don't think he should be a minister. For one he is too young to take on a ministry of real weight. I think FPM has many other well-learned and capable people with more weight such as Pierre Raffoul, Tony Harb, Salim Azar, ... and many others...
PLUS I really don;t think that Aoun should fall in the trap of bringing his relatives to power.

Too young ? Is it better to have a club of 70 years old and plus ? Remember we almost had Michel Eddeh as president :-)
As per him being Aoun's relative : subject already treated elsewehere tone of times... He used to be an activist before meeting the one who became his wife.
Concerning the ministry, it could be a secondary one.

With only one year away from 2009 elections, FPM should take ministries where some work can be done in this short period of time.
IMO, taking the Ministry of Defense will not benefit FPM as the ppl will not be affected by any restructuring in this ministry.
The Ministry of Interior seems to be going to GMS.
So I advise FPM to either talk the Ministry of Finance or better yet the ministry of Justice. But can much be done about the corruption in under one year? Doubtful.
I also say Skaf should take the Ministry of Agriculture since has some knowledge in this field.
As for Tashnag, they ought to take the Ministry of Culture or the Environment. Some serious work should be done in the latter department, bc Lebanon is becoming a mazbale and lebanese are only good at harming Mother Nature.

Also, I hope FPM doesn't mix between MP positions and those of ministers. Let's bring competent ppl with degrees and expertise in the ministries they will occupy.

Thank you vegojimbo for this post!!!I believe the most important ministry is the ministry of finance!!!!The minister of finance controls all the other ministries!!!FPM should insist on taking the ministrie of finance!!!It's the key of everything!!!!
Also Gebran Bessil will be an excellent minister of achghal!!! What do you think?? Asphalte before the elections... (especially for the roads of Keserwane and Jbeil)!!!

"back in power" ???
When was FPM in power last time : it was a half power between 1988-90
FPM is contributing to the political authority for the first time and it's gonna be a huge challenge espacially in the begining of 2009 when we will need to explain how much we're better than our fellows in the gvt. It's gonna be a tricky game but I'm sure GMA and FPM staff will be able to handle it

How was the performance of the MoF under Jihad Azour? Why is it unsatisfactory per FPM standards?
