FPM should present all kind of candidates, from all sects, in all electoral districts, not only to test its strength, but also to grow a base. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Abou Sandal For This Useful Post: | | | Registered Member

- 1 Orthodox: Najah Wakim
- 1 Minorities: FPM
- 1 Evangelist: FPM
- 5 Sunnis: 2 for FPM, 3 for the rest of the opposition
- 1 Druze: Concensus between FPM and LDP
- 1 Shiite: If we could get Ibrahim Shamseddine to join us! if not, than a FPM candidate
Hek w hek we don't stand a chance there, let's improve FPM's image by presenting some candidates, even if they are facing Hezbollah! but we should keep Najah Wakim and the principle Sunni opposition forces there, they have a very slim chance of succeeding, let's not take the risk to destroy that chance! | | | | | Registered Member

Another important thing about having candidates in this region is presenting a choice for voters so there isn't just one candidate where everyone is obliged to vote for him/her (especially if this candidate is Ghinwa Jalloul). | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

Campaigning, having candidates costs money... Presenting oneself as a candidate costs 7000$ I think! So if we want to put 5 candidates in Beirut 3 alone, knowing they will all certainly lose, costs already 35000$ without the campaigning costs!
I think the best idea is to put only 1 or 2 candidates there (1 minority, 1 Sunni), to test the ground and to push the opposition voters to go and vote! We should do the same in Tripoli, Akkar, Chouf! Maximum 8 candidates in these areas (which will already cost 40.000$).. | | | | | Registered Member

we have from all the communities on our lists and we have allies from all the communities
so were is your problem, and remember that if the election was based on proportion we would have presented closed FPM lists all over lebanon
just one question beside the shiites and FPM who do you disagree with in lebanese politics.
you were against FPM voting in 2005,then against GMA running for president months before the MOU of Feb. 2006,you only critisize the people who want to make a change weird weird weird | | | | | Registered Member

I think FPM can afford putting 10000$ in those areas! Especially in Aakar! | | | | | Registered Member

But anyways, even in Akkar we don't stand a chance. Sunnis are more than double the Christians and Alawis put together! Of course, it is still important to put candidates there, but not a closed list, for the reasons I put before (costs and odds)... | | | | | Registered Member

A lot of pro-FPM figures like Jihad el Samad will run on their own financial campain, but if they win they will most probably join the C&R bloc! | | | | | | |
