No it does not because the idiot FM were boycotting any business OWNED BY A CHIITE, which is totally sectarian and unacceptable.
We are asking to boycott companies that are putting pressure on their employees, no matter for whom these employees want to vote, which is completely undemocratic and inhuman (threatening people int heir livelihood sources).

So if you hear of a company putting pressure on its employees to vote for FPM, please let us know so we boycott it as well.

SGBL is owned by another bank (fransabank i think) so SGBL follows fransabank... So i would think twice if SGBL is really forcing employees to vote 14...(bas i do agree SGBL is a crappy bank)

and FYI HA is a big client of Byblos bank...

Ya man where do you get your info from? SGBL is owned by Fransabank? SGBL is owned by Sehnaoui family, there was a share owned by Kassar that was bought by Sehnaoui. No one has anything to do with what is going one other than ANTOUN SEHNAOUI. So do not blame it on anyone else please.

As for SGBL being a crappy bank, unfortunately I think it is one of the best service banks, but this will not be the issue when we all close our accounts there.

sorry fransabank owns 34% of SGBL

The Daily Star - Business Articles - Fransabank takes large stake in SGBL

FRANSABANK TO BUY 34% STAKE IN SGBL
Fransabank has acquired 34% of Societe Generale de Banque au Liban (SGBL) through a share swap with BLC Bank, a fully owned unit of Fransabank. The deal is estimated at $54.5 million of SGBL’s value of $160 million and involves former SGBL chairman Maurice Sehnaoui receiving a 30% stake in BLC in return for his 34% share in SGBL. Last year, Fransabank acquired BLC from the Qatar Investment Authority for $153 million.

why isnt the same thing happening in BLC? With 30% of a company im pretty sure you can do that to no?

Exactly that's what I was telling you. Kassar (Fransabank) bought the share of Maurice (Nicolas's father) which was bought later by Nicolas uncle. The article you posted was Jan 2008. As I understood from someone at SGBL, Kassar has nothing no more in SGBL.

My wild guess, they have only Australians passports... So they have to make Lebanese IDs in order to be able to vote.
