I'm sure they meant Zahlé instead of Jezzine... In fact I'm not sure on what basis they would invalidate the Jezzine elections, as they could also invalidate the elections of Beirut III and Baalbak for the same reasons!

But as I said, if this report is true, then we're again at the "half-decisions" tradition of Lebanese politics!

Why would only ONE MP from Zahlé be invalidated? It is ridiculous as all 7 MPs have approximately the same number of votes and hence got elected by the same fraudulent electors!

Yes it may be a typo by elnashra...

I think that the Salafranca report has something to do with it and that the Lebanese judiciary can not ignore it. So it's better with a half decision (in line with the report) than a complete one so that they do not upset too many people... or upset the election results.

devil's advocate opinion:
jezzine is not a typo, michel el helou is the one they are talking about due to his links as a lawyer to bank el madina. think about it, samir azar runs again, berri is happy.
in zahleh, they might invalidate fattoush, less of a headache for M14, skaff wins the reelection, skaff is happy.
metn, murr is untouchable, lello is the protege of the US in lebanon.
scenario 1) samy gemayel looses his seat, mess between SSNP and tayyar over the canddates, reelection, a kataeb wins prbably samy himself.
scenario 2) ibrahim kanaan (or another maronite FPM) removed, hot reelection, kataeb wins one, has a slightly larger block.

this is a possibility don't you think?

but IMO nothing will happen

they may invalidate an MP's mandate and declare his opponent a winner
without repeating the elections process BUT in the case of Zahle, they
may repeat the elections after cleaning the voters lists.

My speculations are that Gemayel's election will not be touched. Murr's election will be annulled but without by-election: Rahbani will automatically take his place!

Only in Zahlé there will be by-elections, but only for 2 or 3 seats, not more!

As for Jezzine, I doubt it, it's all just a typo (as they said Jezzine and Matn, and not Jezzine, Zahlé and Matn)
