Electing a president will solve most of the problems

رئيس ليس لديه أي صلحيات، فقط للإستقبال والتوديع! فما تطلبه مستحيل

Watani, I didn't ask anything from the president, nor am I expecting anything from him. I already know his presence is useless and merely a facade. He's just there to fill the chair, nothing more nothing less. However, my main point revolved around the 2 questions I asked in the end (mainly the last one). Kindly reread them and u will know why this thread was opened.

إنتخاب رئيس أو عدم انتخابه لا يحلّ أو يربط الأزمة اللبنانية. لأن سبب الأزمة ليس الرئيس ولا الرئاسة. فإن انتخبنا أو لم ننتخب رئيس أيا ً كان فالأزمة هي هي ستبقى ولن تحلّ أي مشكلة

لذا جميع المشاكل التي طرحتها لا ترتبط بأي شكل من الأشكال برئيس الجمهورية وشغور الرئاسة وانتخاب رئيس. يجب أن نكون واقعيين وصادقين مع أنفسنا، طريقة طرح الموضوع لا يعالج صلب المشكلة! نتائج انتخابات 2005 هي المشكلة الوحيدة ! وها هي اليوم نتائجها ترتدّ على تشكيل الحكومة! ولم يكن يوما ً شغور مركز رئيس الجمهورية المشكلة والحلّ! فمن دار بتلك القصيدة هو غير مبال ٍ بلبّ المشكلة

A ton avis, pourquoi Bachir est assassiné? Car il voudrait resoudre les problemes cités par vegojimbo??

Jahel était l'un des conseillers de Bachir et son représentant dans un des gouvernements d'union nationale sous la présidence Sarkis, Bachir refusant de participer personnellement à un gouvernement sous une présidence faible.
La situation avec Taef a empiré. Bachir a été assassiné car son projet était les 10 452 km2 pour chrétiens et musulmans, libres, égaux, dignes et en sécurité. Nous étions les compagnons de Bachir, nous savons de quoi nous parlons.

I would switch the question the other way around: has electing the president caused things to become worse? It's of course true that simply electing a president will not magically solve all the problems, but was that a valid reason to maintain the vacuum for half a year?

Delaying the presidential elections was UNFORTUNATELY the only way for the opposition to get the 1/3+1 in the gov and most importantly a fair electoral law.

Had the president been elected immediately, oppostion would have NEVER got all this. Proof? Look what is happenning regarding the division of portfolios when loyalists aren't under pressure.
