"Fix it" how? For over a year now there has been thread after thread and many accusations that Hariri and Siniora were Wahhabi and Extremist Salafists -- they are in fact the Sunni Moderates. There was all this talk about their "armed militias" and they never had that. Paid security guards are not militias and they were defeated easily.

I'm not sure that FM can hold the Sunni ...... and ironically, when Hezbollah destroyed all the FM media they made it very difficult if not impossible for FM to even reach out to the Sunni and try to calm them.

How do you propose they "fix it"? Even the moderate Sunni are turning against Hariri. The opposition wanted FM destroyed and they might actually have accomplished that ........ I'm thinking you won't like what rises in it's place.

if i say this is not about sect,i will be repeating what has already being emphasized by the opposition.

the question i have is for the government and the sunnis themselves.why do they feel victimized and why do they want to turn it into a sectarian war?if they want to turn it into a sectarian war while the other sect or sects are saying this is not about religion, does that mean that sunnis have a phobia for other sects and want to eliminate others?

the sunnis should feel victimized because of the rule of saniora and nothing more.if they dont trust the opposition, all i can say is let wait and say how this opposition would behave when they hold the government.we have seen the result of the FM and saniora.

It is too early to forsee what kind of debate will ensue in the sunni street. Sunnis are still under shock and nothing can be relied upon now among the current debate. Have patience. May God protect the innocents. It is a disaster.

I try to look at it as a shock rather than a defeat.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the fact that only the Sunni neighborhoods were targeted. M14 is not just Sunni. The Government is not just Sunni.

Only the Sunni were attacked. There is no doubt it was confessional and it really does not matter what the opposition claims ........ facts are facts and it's being reported that way all over the world.

The fact that they were defeated easily doesnt mean that they werent trained milicias... they just didnt have enough time to get more training/weapons (thank GOD).

And the point on the FM not being able to reach the sunni mass because Ftv and otehr Hariri outlets were stopped is really unfounded... There are many TV outlets they can use, national or international (LBC, Jazeera, Arabia etc....)... Seems you've become more lebanese then us Kibi :D Amirkani's influence has rubbed off on you :S

The government is Sunni and Druze, the fact that there are some christians who are employees of Hariri's doesnt mean they represent the christians... sorry but you should look beyond the superficial...

The sunni street is wounded, outraged & lost.

The sooner that these events are over the better! HA was wise to melt away from the street, but they should make sure that Amal does that as well(due to old grudges from the 80s era when it controlled west Beirut). Roads should re-open & life should return to norm.

The outrage is not exclusivly directed towards the opposition, but partially to Jumblat & Saad himself(refer to a poll in the fm form where they are ranked last).

Its may still be early to judge these events, the depth of the wounds & the nature of the healing process, but the least we could start with is shutting the guns.

I'm reading what they are saying - and what they are saying is that their were no militias. They followed Hariri's word that the Army would protect them and the Army stood by and let them be invaded and killed. Sure, there are other venues that Hariri can use to try to reach them ..... and I pray he is successful but the odds are not good.

I'm an observer here but I don't just read one site - I read many. Hariri is losing control of the Sunni. They don't trust the Army. There is zero support for General Sleiman. That's what is going on. Keep in mind that I'm getting this news from English sites ....... I hate to think what the Arabic sites and posts are saying because they are by far the majority.
