Since it seems today that the loyalists have agreed on General Michel Sleiman as an acceptable candidate for the presidency, I think I have some pretty simple and straightforward questions to our dear loyalists:
1- 14 feb have rejected a number of initiatives proposed by GMA and FPM based on 2 criteria: they require constitutional amendments (although not all of them trully do) and they are "one time" amendments.
So how come GMS' candidature is now supported by the loyalists even though it requires a constitutional amendment? and why did they accept this one time amendment and refused the ones proposed by FPM knowing that amending the constitution to let the ppl choose their president is far far more acceptable than amending the constitution to elect "anyone but GMA"?
2- 14 feb and Sfeir have declared many times that they are against a military commander as a president.
mmmm, isn't GMS a military commander?
3- 14 feb have rejected GMA's candidature based on his close relations with HA and alleged connections with Syria.
So how come GMS, who has excellent relations with HA and Syria and was even appointed army commander by Syria, is acceptable?
4- 14 feb and specifically FM, through MP Moustafa 3alloush and MP 3atef Majdalani, attacked GMS the first moment his name as a candidate first roamed the lebanese scene a few months ago.
Yet, isn't he now their candidate?
5- 14 feb have been repeatedly claiming they are following the batrak's list and that any name out of it is totally unacceptable.
Wait, wait! isn't GMS' name out of the Batrak's list? and didn't Sfeir also declare that he is against having a military figure as a president? So basically, GMA gets attacked left and right for going against the Batrak, but it's prefectly fine for the loyalists to do it.
Bottom line, no matter what, no matter how, everyone is better than GMA as president.
Welcome to the lands of Hypocrisy.
