after 2000 and the direct american intervention in the area, israelis wars are not an israeli option anymore...actually the 2006 war was imposed by USA and israel wanted to end it as soon as it depleted all its targets...it was the USA and the orbiting arab regimes who pushed to extend the war in order to win some points in negotiations with syria and iran.
In order to launch a war, israel must gain the approval of USA, the arab regimes, and definitely and unfortuantely some lebanese backup for that.
As for HA, HA does not have the capability to start a WAR...even if HA launches an assault on an israeli target, it is the israeli response and decision that starts a war.

you are totaly right in your analysis of the situation.
But don't you think that even if Israel wants to launch a war, Hezb is not in a position to stop it by not giving them the excuse to continue it?
And i think that Israel can not start a war without an excuse, take today for example, the front is totaly calm and nothing is happening from both sides, so if Hezb or any other party will not do any provocation on Israel, nothing can push them to start something specially that the UNIFIL is there and all the world are observing Israel.
Today the USA are not in a position to push Israel to create a war, not like before with the Bush regime.
so we need to stay united in order to keep the country out of any danger.
