There will be no wars between Lebanon and Israel. Neither side wants one. Israel cannot win against Hizballah, and Hizballah is not strong enough to launch a wide offensive into Israel. Even if it was, Hizballah has too many domestic opponents at the moment to make it work.

1950's - Camille Chamoun reign -1958 war.

1970's - high economy -1975 war

1996-relatively stable economy due to the Hariri mess up -3anakid el ghadab

2006-promising Summer- -interrupted by July war

2009 promising season on course - ??


Natyanyaho was elected for his radical stances.
Ahmadi Nijad re-elected for his radical stances.
Hezballa is taking more radical stances towards its Lebanese rivals.

As much as me and you know, Israel will not give in to the fact that Hezballa is a confined barrier; sooner or later when Israel finds that the circumstances are on the ditch, it'll order its tanks into southern Lebanon.

another war between Lebanon and Israel... hmm well all i can say is ... it's not a question of whether if.... but more of a question of When!..... Israel and Lebanon will always have wars/confrontations... here and then.... now and when.... but it's simply not predictable..... for example.. no one would have thought that what happened in 06 was gonna happen... but it did

now last month Israel made an exercise drill running to Shelters if Missiles are coming.(is that just a coincidence that they did this RIGHT before the summer?)

anyways..... if this happens.. it's gonna get us by surprise.. that's for sure

israel have proved that if it wanted to do something it does not wait for an alibi to do it. hostilities have been happening from their side after 1701 resolution and our part have not responded at all.

so if they needed a war they will make the war irrespective of the alibi/hostility/cause/consequences. at least now they will think before they do because of the repercussions.

Israel proved that it hits civilian habitations without any refrain.

I have no doubt, by experience, that baabda, jbeil, zgharta w keserwen will take care of their lebanese brothers.

I'm generally not a fan of speculation, but there may be a link with how events unfold in Iran and a potential clash at the Lebanon-Israel border. This would likely happen after the government is formed, though.

This could serve several purposes, including diverting the attention off the Khamenei/Ahmadinejad difficulties (if the situation worsens for them), give them a pretext to crack down on protests and rally the population against the Israeli common enemy.
