The difference between me and most is that I hold the base responsible for the mediocrity on t he top and hence I see no hope , at least in my life time, that the base will ever change. Therefore this being the case what is wrong with getting a little bit of benefit for onself when you know the whole country has no bright future ahead of it? Not only that I strongly believe the country has an absolutely miserable future ahead of it as it's made up of people with incompatible values and aspirations.
| Shadow1, my beliefs are like a tree some are fixed and some are malleable. my sense of pride will not allow me to be stubborn when i take the wrong road, often i change directions. Having said that I agree with you that the people are at fault to the current situation. A society that has been charatcerized by prime loyalty to religion/class/family/clientilism, more than their country, for more than hundred years will be rigid to straighten in single batter. Here is where your characters come to play a role, do you keep the atitude of accepting defeat or do you plant the mustard seed? i prefer the latter! Quote: |
Just as you deemed the party you vouch for to be righteous and competent, there are people on the other side who are equally convinced that what their opponents believe in is absolute falsehood. And since it's a country made up of mainly one eyed people and one eared people so the seeds of its destruction are well embedded in it without me having to go into details or specifics.
| yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! wondering about how many legs a dog has if we include his tail will still not change the fact! I do not have blind political affiliation, I do not wish to become an automaton, I am giving a chance to the other side for once; tried the current faces for more than 15 yrs and seen status quo flourished, time for a change! Quote: | The only real advantage I see the FPM as having over its opponents is that it has not been tried before and maybe there is some merits in what they believe in. However looking at it as part of a whole which I already determined in my mind that its chances of success are tenuous at best and Looking at what it allied itself with, whatever little hope I may have had is simply not there and hence the cynicism and the need to reap the benefit of any offer that may come my way regardless of any moral depth.
| Great point you put it nicely for me and became an advocate for FPM!!from the FPM leadership response to historical events, i believe if their current alliance is determintal to Lebanon interests it will be absolved in favor of Lebanon's interests. Giving FPM and likes a chance to improve Lebanon's political system by have significant legislative and probably excutive power is their litmus test. if they succeed they will make you and us happy and if they failed you lose none! I can't say the same on the other side, given their track record. Quote: |
If you ask me for example would I sell my vote in the country I live in currently I would absolutely say no but each country has different standards and benchmarks and hence different approaches.

The countries we live in current are at this stable civil levels and political maturity because its founders believed in a change and worked for it, never gave up or falter. these countries are a collection of admirable history that have chance of survivability because of good foundation that we are currently relying on. Why our set of beliefs and characters have to change for the same process dependent of geography and than that of History?

The thing that annoys me more is that i have friends who are extremly active in the FPM Australia, have gotten their hands on application forms and yet to circulate them to the media.
I know everyone knows and bla bla bla, but its nice to have some 'tangible' proof.
P.s Anyone know where i can get tickets from Sydney? I have heard about the stores in Lakemba giving them out but i dont know which one exactly | WEll, this is disturbing if truely acted upon by FPMers in Aussie land! However, the primary goal of this thread is to include tangible evidence and figures if possible. thanks for the info. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to sarhay For This Useful Post: | SISCO (28th January 2009) | | Registered Member

2nd the average price per ticket is more than $333
- a regular ticket to the gulf is around $650
- ticket to the united states is around $1300
- as for Australia it’s around $1500
- as for Europe I have no idea
I might be not exact about the price tickets maybe our comrades living abroad can give us a better idea concerning the rates but still with any discount it will not reach an average of $333
a study is being made for every district that’s for sure and I’m certain that when the study is done the conclusion will be that we need to help out our comrades in diaspora | Ticket prices from Canada to Leb range from $1300 to $1400 (Canadian $) during that time of the year so similar to the U.S but Australia would be more expensive.
The other question is are there enough flights from all these countries to fly all those voters in if both the 14ers and the opposition decide to mobilise thier bases !! | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

Be aware of the Trojan Horse amongst us! This is a Hariri scheme
In the late 80’s, Rafic Harri decided to distribute boxes of food and rations for each Lebanese family. Your share of the food and ration depends solely on the number of people in your family. In other words, you had to declare your household details on a sheet of paper to get the “appropriate help.” The help was under the name of King of Saudi Arabia, sponsored by Rafic hariri. The Maronite MPs at that time, which will remain nameless, did their utmost to distribute the goods from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This scheme was a trick by Hariri to collect statistics on the number of Christians living in Lebanon. The statistics collected was used against the same Matronite MPs, that helped Hariri distribute the “goods”, in their “negotiation” effort in Taef.
Today, Hariri is collecting information about the Christian living outside Lebanon. This is the same trick as in the 1ate 80’s. Hariri wants to have the number of Christians living outside Lebanon. The information will help Hariri determine if he should support a bill to allow the expatriate to vote, among other lobbying effort. WE ALL KNOW.
The number of Christians in Lebanon and abroad is a guarded secret by Bkerki and the clergy. There is a reason why the last official consensus was made in 1932. Geagea LF are handing Hariri valuable information about the Christian community abroad. The numbers collected will be used in the next round of negation by Hariri. Geagea is on hariri side this round...what about the "next round"?
Be aware! Geagea and his forces are a trojan horse within the Christian community, with their knowledge or without their knowledge.
Once again, geagea and his forces were and remain the most dangerous threat to the Christian community in Lebanon and abroad. Be aware of the Trojan horse amongst us.
Information is power and geagea is collecting information about the Christian community abroad for Hariri. This is a serious matter... Don't reveal any information about the number of your families in Lebanon or abroad... | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

Don't reveal any information about the number of your families in Lebanon or abroad... | While your point is valid, unfortunatly such information is not hard to be obtained. Lebanon is small and lot of trojans could be created for the right price. Additionally, the church officials, most of them, are in bed with Hariri and every other $$ tyacoon. It does not take that much for your neighbor to provide such information, bribing archdioscese officials for such information will be piece of cake. Hariri and others know very well the number of Christians in diaspora and that is why dodge the issue of allowing them to vote where they are. So they created this personal touch of providing diaspora, Christian mainly, with free tickets and accomodation to make them feel that they are cared for. On the other hand, for more than 15 yrs, none of them even care to ask about this diaspora welfare!!! what they are doing now is a form of "slavery of conscious and character". Once on their books, they can call you for "favors" as needs arise, otherwise you are just another number!!! | | | | | | | Tags | actions, aouniye, call, called, clientelism, diaspora, election, elections, expatriates, factor, flight, fpm, fpmers, free, gma or fpm, hariri, interest, issues, mind, offered, paris, phone, proofs, received, related, solid, tickets, votes | |
