This thread hopefully will be focused on election related issues for the diaspora. There are lot of chatters lately about 14Febers mobilizing their election "foot soldiers" across different countries. most recently, a report about MP Boutros Harb sending moukhtar Tanoureen and others to Australia to presuade Lebanese diaspora to come and vote.
my question to all diaspora; have you encountered or do you know of such actions whether from majority or opposition?where? when? how? | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to sarhay For This Useful Post: | | | Registered Member

Actually, the main question that should be asked:
What is the opposition, specifically FPM, doing to get the diaspora to Lebanon to vote (we should know by now that others will spend loads of $$$ in getting their voters here).

Sarhay, 1st thank you for opening this Thread
I can tell you here in Canada I have heared it for months now that 14 el shaher are organizing for their supporters to go vote this summer. Apparently there are forms being filled out "el moustaqbal" is of course the one providing the money and the main driver money wise, but they are all working on mobilizing it seems. I have heared from "LF" friends and aquaintances that take part in meetings and a are involved the ticket is being paid of course plus a $1000 in spending money with the usual anything and everything will be done "tan sa2it Micheal Aoun" and actually it was in the media even the "LF" website that the "LF" office in Montreal held a meeting about the elections under the slogan "7ellou el wafa 7ellou el iltizam intekheb la thawret el arz entkheb la lebnan" So it seems to be happening. As for FPM or mou3arada I have not heared anything about them offering anything similar. I hope they also have an action plan!

AL Mustakbal group is mobilized in east and west USA. As i said before newspapers are advertising phone numbers to assist voters willing to travel. I have that numbers but ***** them i will pay for my ticket and vote for FPM.
There r rumors LF is offering huge amount of money also. If you travel and vote. In any case in California the biggest entity or community is the Armenian population and they r mobilized too.... on both sides. You can smell its gonna be a hot summer..lol | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Thinkrebel For This Useful Post: | | | Orange Room Supporter

I heard the valentinos will try to mobilize 50,000 of their supporters living abroad to come and vote in Christian areas..... can FPM and allies beat this number? If not then we have a big chance of losing in most of the districts. | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

This is good news. The "loyalists" are expecting a huge defeat.
On average, each ticket will cost Geagea/Moustaqbal $1,000 (to be conservative).
By the way, geagea is using his father's wealth (Farid) to buy the tickets.
500 additional votes in a specific district will cost them $500,000. If they give me $100,000, I can get them an additional 1,000 votes in any district!
1,000 additional votes will cost them $1,000,000. For a million dollar, I can triple the number of votes to 3,000 in any district. Hell! For a million dollar, I will make dead people vote. Conclusion: It seems the loyalists are desperate. | | | | | | | Tags | actions, aouniye, call, called, clientelism, diaspora, election, elections, expatriates, factor, flight, fpm, fpmers, free, gma or fpm, hariri, interest, issues, mind, offered, paris, phone, proofs, received, related, solid, tickets, votes | |
