Default Dear Mr. Patriarch! - 25th February 2009

Source: Naharnet

Quote:
Maronite Church Warns it Would Excommunicate those who Slander the Patriarch
Maronite Bishop of Jbeil Beshara Rai said Wednesday that those who slander Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir will be punished by excommunication.
"The church does not have political inclinations. Its duty is to enlighten peoples' consciences," Rai told a press conference at the Catholic Center for Information in Jal el-Dib, north of Beirut.

"The church law says that whoever insults the patriarch gets punished by excommunication; and those who raise discord against the patriarch and the bishops would get the appropriate punishment including excommunication," he stressed.

The patriarch's only concern, according to Rai, is to preserve the unity of faith and Lebanon's independence.

About attacks by some media outlets and politicians on the patriarch and the Maronite church, Rai said: "The media has principles. It should grant citizens the right to know the truth They should not slander people."

"It's a pity to see the politicization of religion and declaring war in the name of religion," he said.

"All patriarchs made efforts to have a single and united Lebanon. All they cared about was to protect the Lebanese entity and the unity of the faith. They paid a heavy price for that," Rai said.

The Episcopal commission for communication speaks on behalf of the Catholic church in Lebanon, the Bishop said. He urged media outlets to obtain the required information from the commission.

Rai said every person will be held responsible for any news story that does not cite a source from Catholic media centers.

The Lebanese people should choose those who will represent and serve them best, Rai said about the June 7 parliamentary elections.

"The government's responsibility is to maintain security We ask officials not to disrupt the elections for personal reasons," he said.

Rai said the country's political scene has been transformed into a battle field and politicians are clashing and fighting rather than competing on political programs.

The bishop said the church and other religions condemn a private Israeli TV show that ridiculed Jesus and Mary.

In the program, Israeli comedian Lior Shlein sarcastically denied Christian traditions that Mary was a virgin and that Jesus walked on water saying he was doing so as a "lesson" to Christians who deny the Holocaust.

As the Evil & Dark Army is getting out of control, it is time for our own French Revolution. It is no longer an option. It is a must for the Christians to take back their Church from Harriri. The Christians in Lebanon have to liberate their Church from the evil residing in it and take back what belongs to them.

Everyone has to do their part. We can't be victims of fancy yet meaningless clichs: 'We have to respect the Batrak' (he has to respect himself first), 'we can go to Church and separate that from politics'... (the Church must hear the silence resulting from its evil ways). Everyone have to play their role to the fullest. The church under Patriarch Sfeir screwed the Christians significantly and till when are we going to keep quiet?

I like Rai in general, and I do agree that media should cite official sources. But the punishment for not doing so is not applicable to all Lebanese, and hence is not practical.

As for slander and dishonesty...
"All patriarchs made efforts to have a single and united Lebanon. All they cared about was to protect the Lebanese entity and the unity of the faith. They paid a heavy price for that," Rai said.

History has taught us in several occasions that the above statement is not true. I say to you Bishop Rai, do not slander, for he who does is excommunicated by history itself.

Default Maronite Church threatens GMA & SF with Excommunication - 25th February 2009

Maronite Church Warns it Would Excommunicate those who Slander the Patriarch

Maronite Bishop of Jbeil Beshara Rai said Wednesday that those who slander Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir will be punished by excommunication.

I think this is a clear warning to the GMA and to Sleiman Franjiye. These two better think twice before they insult the Head of our Church again....or else

I don't think the patriarch would like to see his community with 2 to 3 times less members :D

Anyway, this really shows the colors of the patriarch and the ra3eh guy, tsk tsk... even more low-lifed than all the other buffoons in their society

Anyway, I have always wanted to be excommunicated, what should I do to accomplish this?

i know the meaning.. i asked the question to emphasize my answer...

1- apparently, the Patriarch and all his dark and devilish history determines if i am a christian or not....

2- i don't know if i really want to be member of this religion/sect of that Devil Patriarch...

3- I was tought and i believed Christianity had to do with the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostles and the sacrifice of all the Martyrs (not Rafiq Hariri).. apparently, The Christianity of Sfeir or perhaps Sfeirism would be a better word is all about division, discord, money, slavery.....

4- Yid7asha lal Sfeirism taba3o....

What's next? Sell people vacant spaces in heaven? These days are over my friend.

This Rai and his master, the High Priest, find that the insults to Jesus and Mary as casual business not worthy of remotely angry reaction, yet, if one politically disagrees with the King of all Feudals, Patriarch Sfeir, he will then suffer the consequences that these Satan worshipers in Bishop clothing shall bring onto him.

Tell him to excommunicate 'this'.

You know, this reminds me of a story....

At the beginning of the 20th century, The people of Zgharta had some issue with the then-patriarch (men 2iyyema we can't Bkerki :P), so conflicts escalated and in the end some really bad words came out from both sides, so the Zghertawis decided to separate from Bkerki... So byeb3ado wafed, sha5es men kell 3ayleh to the Mufti of Tripoly, asking him to convert them to Islam
The Mufti was so surprised by this, and said: "Ya3neh 2ana mesh la7 2ez3al, bass leh moosserrin t2asselmo? Mesh 2ahyanlkoon ta3mlo room?"
So the head of Zgharta's delegation replies: "Lah ya Same7t el Mufti, ne7na ze3lenin ma3 Bkerki bass mesh hal2ad!"

bel 2e5ir the Mufti sala7 el Zghertewiyeh ma3 Bkerki!

BTW, this story is completely true, it's not a joke!
