wild liberal capitalism died last year, not all capitalism

and it did die in the 30th too, but was brought back to life in the 60th

I like the LCP just because of our fellow forum member "shoyu3i"

Their partisans may be the best type of people to have a "sakra" with, which is definitely the best cure for the Lebanese problems:) la capitalism wala ballout

PS: you didnt have to compare with LF and Kataeb...
i wasnt bashing LCP, but i was attacking communist regimes
I think communist parties bring a healthy democratic and social movement into politics
by the way, economically, Kataeb are the closest there is to the LCP
we started all the syndicates movement in lebanon, during a time where LCP was too communist to be allowed to demand anything under the liberal capitalist governments in Lebanon

So the huge rally in equities since the beginning of the year and the help of the US gov to bail out banks so that they can get back into action show the "Death of capitalism"?

If they're curbing bonuses does it mean that the capitalist structure is over? walaw?

what's happening in the states is a basic form of intervention to regulate the free market. Do not mix Keynesianism and Socialism.

You're totally missing my point. Nordic countries are the perfect example of the efficient implementation of capitalism as a way to regulate both society and the free market. If they've been affected by the crisis it is because of the impact of globalization. Your primal criticism of Capitalism concerning the bullying of empowered individuals does not hold in that context.

If I may, Capitalism never died. But you're witnessing more state interferences in the economy which has nothing to do with socialism. It's pure keynesianism...

To kill capitalism (and/or to implement socialism) you need first to kill the legal concept of "Rights of property" and abolish laws of property. Who is ready to do that ?

Quite off topic but the "global crisis" was not due to the principles of a liberal economy. It was mainly due - on the contrary - to the lack of implementation of the most important concepts of the liberal economy : lack of transparency.

only through communism that a proper social moral compass can be set. whether you liked it or not, and whichever theory you might have, communism represents the ultimate quest for justice.

La2 you convinced us!
Please read the rest of the posts and elaborate. Because of these hollow statements everyone will take (is taking?) your arguments lightly.

Cheers

I got 3 free tickets for the LCP's 85th birthday festival, there were a lot of interesting things, but I didin't feel like going! At a time being, I felt very close to this party, I shared a lot of principles with them and still do, but recently I've been a bit repulsed by their behavior, I don't know how to explain this exactly, but I felt they are becoming more and more disorganised, fi shi za3ajneh bi mawe2foon w tassarofon!

You must not forget that the communist party was fought buy many lebanese parties and specially by the syrians.
Many partisans left the party and had some hope after march 14 but the only person who was able to create a moderne party was Georges Hawi.

The actual party does not represent its partisan who are still (in my opinion) the only secular and revolutionary (in term of reform and social services) lebanese individual.

I think that a strong LCP can make some balance in lebanon who is controled by capitalist
