its very unfortunate indeed!!!
i want to take this opportunity in this thread to remind others that there are many more oppressed peoples in the middle east.in iraq, even though with condemnation of it,there is occupation and wahhabi terrorists crossing the borders from saudi arabia and jordan in particular.the head of al qaeda in iraq that was killed, abu musa al zarqawi,is jordanian.
the worst form of oppression is taking place in countries with recognized govts. and no occupation as in iraq.it is the govts. of those states that are oppressing their own people.there is no other reason for oppressing them than because they have or hold different beliefs.even in syria and iran people are not persecuted or denied positions and posts because of their religion as in saudi arabia and co.there could be biase in syria and iran (and its human nature) but institutionalized oppression and persecution is unacceptable as in saudi arabia and co.
in addition to voicing support for the christians of iraq who are being persecuted in their houses,i want to also show solidarity to the 5 million oppressed shia muslims of saudi arabia.the saudi govt. is oppressing its own people that make up close to 20% of the population, same as the sunni percentage in iraq.and we all know the feeling of the minority sunni in iraq and how they ruled for years.in bahrain and kuwait the threat and oppression is the same story.
to go further than that,i also want to condemn the apartheid and rascist political system that aportion political appointements by religious confession than what individuals merit in our own country, lebanon.we have no democracy in lebanon.you cant call it consensual democracy, because consensus for rascism is no democracy!!!we have a shameful and disgraceful system in lebanon found nowhere else in the world.our system was only rivaled by the abolished apartheid system in south africa.
