I don't know why all this project is reminding me of dubai and what's happening over there right now?

I dont know why some people oppose this project. Isnt bringing money and investments good for the country? Lebanon could sure use those new 50 000 job opportunities, especially after this crisis the world is witnessing which caused thousands of lebanese abroad their jobs.

/\ Thats correct Shevchenco

And that is why Dubai air is polluted, the under water ecco system does not exist.

One thing the author forgot to mention is

You realize to make this ridicilous "Hummer of the Seas" project in Lebanon, you need to use one of these...

Some of the environmental impacts...

The Palms and the Environment

"Although the development company, Nakheel, took steps to minimize the environmental effects of construction by transporting fish and marine animals outside of the palms' breakwaters, the islands have still harmed the area's marine environment. Rocks and sand buried oyster beds and coral reefs and altered currents eroded the mainland shore. Meanwhile, the owners of once-desirable shore properties complain that the islands destroy their view."

More here...

Furthermore, the sand to fill this project is imported from another location within the Lebanese coast. Which means in order to damage this location you will be causing damage in another location.

Yeah at what cost?

We had jobs in Lebanon, very strong manufacturing jobs before 1995. Now those "made in lebanon" jobs are out the window instead we are catering services across the highway. Hey, I was not the Finance Minister at that time.

They could hire 3 people to maintain a small archeological site on the way to Chekka. You probably have seen in on the right by the highway. The smell of urine is quiet appetizing.

Thats 3 jobs for you and for a good purpose and a positive environmental impact.

You're talking as if we have perfect clean shores. They are already contaminated with fuel and dipers. So a project like this one in Damoor wont make a difference.

It's not the first time I see guys here rejecting huge investments in Lebanon. First the rejection was against the new projects in DT and now this.
Are you satisfied with Lebanon the way it is? The UAE are not better than us! we deserve some prosperity.

form.

Magnifique design but i am totally against such project we do have cedars no need to make artificial one!!! we can replant all the Lebanese mountains with natural cedars and we will not expense the huge amount that will be spent on this project!!!
btw who is the investor(s)??
