It does not have owners . IC is a non profit organisation. It has a board of trustees from all sects and nationalities..

The administration as well is very diversified..

The book is taught in the middle school that is supervised by Mrs. Waddad El Hoss who is the daughter of Salim el hoss whom we know very well his stands concerning the israel/palestinian issues..

It is a fact that many around the world and in Lebanon do consider Hezbollah to be amongst other things, a terrorist organization. It is a fact that many around the world and in Lebanon do consider Hezbollah to be amongst other things, a fundamentalist islamist organization that transcends the Lebanese borders.

modern world history textbook third grade - Google Search
Not true, a simple google book search obviously shows more than one book titled "Modern World History":

"Modern World History" - Google Books

Now which one suits third graders can be tougher to pin down.

now regardless whether if for 1st graders or 10th graders... this book should not be taught in any lebanese school..

Lebanese school means a school on the lebanese soil teaching lebanese kids and has received certification by the ministry of education to teach kids....

this book clearly propagates hate and it is really funny how FBM is trying to find an excuse...
ya FBM, you cannot ask kids to ignore this part of this book...
ya FBM, the school is responsible for the content of hte books they use.. if the content is not adequate, then the book is not picked..
it is not about freedom of choice or speech to teach hate to kids..

zouzou-lebnan... only 5 countries among 192 consider HA as terrorist..
1- Israel ...what a surprise...
2- USA... we all know their decision is always subjective and relative.. so they don't count.. PS: check out Qaddafi
3-UK and Australia... they don't decide, they are told to do so by the US
4- Netherlands: now that's a surprise..

i hope this issue is amplified to become a big deal... i hope the names of those responsible in IC are released and they get harassed by the press...

So, You are saying that Waddad El hoss wanted this book to be taught.
i doubt that since we all know her father's views on that issue..

as for non profit organisation i am sure that it is ..IC was founded by the same person that founded AUB.

I am only saying that there might be a misunderstanding in this issue..

Are such books banned in Lebanon?

I didn't read hate in what was quoted. Only a point of view shared by many around the world.

The school has multiple curricula, some are international and targeted for international students.

What about the Islamist angle quoted in the article?

Does Lebanon clasify HA as a terrorist organization?

Is the school in the US Israel or Canada?

The school should be closed down and all those responsible accused of high treason and hanged.

This is my take on it.

Cheers

I am sure that even if the book contained such issue it was not addressed.
I am an IC alumni , and I was there during the war , all issues that had any sensitivities were simply skipped and not discussed..
So even if the book contained such isareli propaganda it will not be taught simply.

Its in Australia, maybe across the street from you, and has a branch in the UK :)

You always want to hang people :) and call them traitors, but not necessarily in that order.

What the Lebanese gov classify HA is irrelevant and doesn't dictate what this school should teach in its international curricula. Does the Lebanese gov ban such books?
