Isn’t it enough that the face of Lebanon is changing a bit by bit because of some groups of people living on its soil do not have the same vision of Lebanon as it has been created for?
Care to explain how the face of Lebanon is changing and what as that vision that Lebanon was created for?

I agree with you it is shocking... I know for a fact that my ancestors are all Phoenicians and we have Swedish genes from the crusaders... But Arab? Yuck!!! Hell, my arabic is as bad as Carlos Edde and bildough...

Now, in a "normal" country, official schools have to homologated by the state who has to validate whatever they're teaching. You're not allowed to teach anything you want if you want to be recognized as a school!!!

We are in Lebanon however and "normality" does not really apply

History should be unified in such a difficult and disparate country!
The problem in IC is that they should be following some US program and using their books. So the tet is surely from a US book which is in line with the US government definition of Hezbollah and Hamas.
Now I am not sure if IC has the full liberty to use whichever book or they need to comply with some standards.
Anyhow, I think we live in an era of globalization and in a country where kids as of a young age are kind of brain washed by their parents/friends/community....
So it is not up to the book to awaken youngsters.

sorry for the french but it's way easier for me,when i read these guys i have the same feeling as if i was watching the news on a black and white TV ,they have the power to send me 30 years back
ooops i forgot there is nothing called Phoenician we "Lebanese" come from the Canaans and the greeks called them phoenicians because they were red faced staying in the sun cutting the cedars and playing with the murex shells

Schools are not free to label Hezbollah as terrorists while it is not the official position of the Lebanese Government which Hezbollah is part of, I am pretty sure they can be sued for that.

Shou khas?!? IC has a variety of programs other than the leb bacc. and the don't seperate the student that early on by program... They would've had the same history book both ways...

Modern world history is an INTERNATIONAL book that IC probably had nothing to do with... Besides how does anyone know that they were gonna teach the children anything from the unit about the middle east? Did anyone see the third grade history agenda/program? I think not...

Ic didnt label hizballa terrorist... The book did, and the book should've been edited by the ministry... And do you know if the school taught the kids anything from that unit/chapter?

govt should ask the school to ask its students to write an essay about

the jewish groups that were blowing the british soldiers in palestine in the 30s and 40s, and let us see whether they are cosidered as terrorist or not.

this imperialistic wasp dominated colonialism is a getting out of hand, and i blame the nations/races who keeps up with that and allows themselves to be treated as 2nd, 3rd even lower class citizens.

we should hold a demonstration outside the school until they adjust their curriculum.

this is one of those moments where i see eye to eye with some of bin laden preachings

The only Modern World History textbook out there is one for the GCSE by Ben Walsh... This book is NOT for third graders (thaleth moutawaset) its for tenth graders but the schools here used it for grade eleven IB history AND above all that the book doesn't even mention hizballa or hamas, its stops after the cold war

modern world history textbook third grade - Google Search
