I don't see where is the problem in teaching students about the holocaust? Shouldn't we teach our students about the Genocides that happened and that is still happening? So if the victim is our enemy it's not considered as Genocide? They teach about the holocaust in Germany why not teach it in Lebanon?
Genocide is genocide no matter who is the victim and educating students about the danger and about the consequences of Genocide is crucial.
Thank you!!

I am a proud Arab Nationalist and a Proud Maronite too.
we have been in this land for over 1000 years and we do not need 3oumala wa zionist opinions.
it ahs been written a lot about ann frank and other similar stories ( she was 8 at the time yaehhh) and it was all zionist propaganda.
it is your choie to beleive that or not.
but in Lebanon as long as we are there, we wont be treated as second citizens and told on what how and who to read by others.

I don;t think anybody asked for a genocide-free curriculum, but don't you believe that all genocides in history should be given the same amount of scrutiny and school time?
And if ever a school wants to teach about the Nazi holocaust, don't you think that a proper historical literature is needed?
There are alot more stories about dutchies that faced some hitler power but those stories are kept out of media and all focus is about Ana Frank.
Its like european value compared to jews value is equal to -1000.
I keep making fun of them here but people are complete different from gouverment (media) here in the Netherlands.
This girl bteswa 100 ana baloot
I dont like the jews, isreali, palestinians and anyone else who ever lived on that holy land
but until you figure out what the Final Solution was, you cant imagine what it means...
human mind working scientifically to commit a huge genocide
the biggest ever yet
10 million lives ( jews and lots of others )
unless you learn well what happened during the Second World War... someone someday might end up surpassing the nazis in horror

Of course I agree. My comment wasn't for this matter. I was responding to some posts that were clearly implying that teaching about the holocaust is wrong.
Two years ago, we had a huge struggle in Ontario, Canada and we passed a bill that obliges schools to teach about ALL Genocides. There was a huge lobbying by the Turkish side, but we succeeded to pass the bill.
Now schools teach about all genocides including the Armenian one.
I am all for having a curriculum that obliges schools in Lebanon to teach about all Genocides. It's time...
Thank you!!

I am kind of surprised and border line appalled by the stance of some forumers.
I can completely understand the uproar on a book portraying HA as a terrorist organization. But what I can't understand for a second is the utter mascarade about a book describing the holocaust.
A few points:
- Since when is the holocaust related in any way shape or form to the plight of the Palestinians? The only twisted people who make this ridiculous connection are the Zionists.
- Does feeling compassion for a holocaust victim different in any way than feeling compassion for the plight of the Palestinians? As a matter of human right principles these are one and the same. As a matter of bias and Zionism, these are totally different issues.
- Since when is hiding information any good? Teach the **** story, and compare it to how the Zionist reacted to that. Even a kid would understand that instead of adopting the victim's point of view and becoming more sensitive to human rights, Zionists adopted the Nazis ideology and methods.
- And best of all, by which sxtrapolation of the Lebanese law do we prevent talking about the holocaust? Seriously?

Wise up a bit Manar, the crimes Israel is committing doesn't deny the fact that Jews were persecuted by the Nazis during WWII. The Holocaust is a fact, eventhough I doubt the number 6,000,000 (it coulb be true or it could be false, I'm not a historian).

You need to look at the book as a complete entity. It's not the holocaust itself, rather the fact that the book is a typical Zionist book. They must be teaching the same version in Israel lol
