Yes, but Yvette Sursoq will beat him easily. She's the most popular and, besides, she has FPM's support.

What will LF do, will they run someone there (or maybe 2)? Or leave the seats to Solange, Amoune and Dory (since he does not stand a chance in Chouf, even joumb won;t have him, he might run for achrafieh).

There was a boolk published by somebody from Dwayhe family and has the results of each district in Lebanon of the 2005 election. This is a very detailed book and unfortunately I lost the copy when I moved. I had few scans but it seems to me that it is easier to find the book than to fond something on my computer. if anybody has that book or any other detailed results (there are several studies done and the results shown district by district and for every single candidate) please let him/her do scans and post them. We can gain valuable info from these results. All electoral machines have them but at least if we can discuss these results here we can help somehow.

Abdo Saad was OTV's guest today.

He said that the latest survey he did for Beirut was in March before the new election was approved. He said it wasn't a formal one since he didn't know exactly how the districts will be divided but he did it just to have an idea about the general mood there. Results were close with a slight advantage for the loyalists.

However he added that Beirut 1 is the only district where he doesn't allow himself to give a clear expectation now since people there haven't voted since 1972 and he can't predict the voting turnout for each sect.

Concerning the candidates there, he said that rumors are circulating about Nadim Gemayel or his mom for the maronite seat, Phar3on for Catholic and Nayla Tueini or Mr. Michel Tueini (son of Ghassan Tueini's brother) for the Orthodox. (loyalists)

From the oppositiion's side , Mass3oud el Achkar for the maronite seat, Ziad 3abs (from what sect is he?) and a guy called Nicolas Sahnaoui (who is he???). For the 2 armenian seats, one of them will go to a non-Tashnag but it is a person who has a strong presence in Achrafieh.

Sahnaoui used to be close of Lahoud without having an official position as far as I remember the pre-2005 period.

In the last few days/weeks I've been reading (Al Akbar, maybe Al Safir also) that Pharaon who used to be close to Hariri was going to be a kind of independant candidate in Beirut 1. I even read that he was goind to be on FPM's list.
Anyone has any info about the guy : I guess he's the heir of a riche family, but what else ? He's been an MP (a minister maybe) close to Hariri Sr. But how much close is he from Jr ? Is he yet another puppet like Lahoud, Atallah or Mo3awad ? Does he have any specific ideas about the future of Lebanon ? Any specific popular base ?
Thanx
