Here's something Ibrahim Al Amin from Al Akhbar wrote today about the forthcomin Beirut battle :

ويتوقع السياسي أن يرفع جنبلاط من وتيرة انتقاداته لزعماء مسيحيين من فريق 14 آذار، ويستحسن عدم إغفال احتمال أن يحمّل جنبلاط هذه المجموعة مسؤولية التدهور الذي آلت إليه الأوضاع في لبنان. ولن يتوقف كثيراً عند الصراخ أو البكاء الذي بدأ يُسمع عند هؤلاء، وهم يشعرون الآن بأن أمامهم معركة كبرى في الدائرة الأولى في بيروت، وإن كانت المشكلة في هذا المجال تنطلق من إصرار صولانج بشير الجميّل على ترشيح ابنها نديم، مما يكبح جماح الماكينات الانتخابية لكل من القوات اللبنانية والكتائب، كما أن احتفاظ الحريري بميشال فرعون وأرمن من خارج حزب الطاشناق سوف يزيد الأمور تعقيداً، علماً بأن نقاشاً أقوى بدأ حول المقعد الأرثوذكسي، وخاصة أن آل تويني ينوون ترشيح نايلة ابنة النائب الراحل جبران في لائحة تضمها مع الجميّل الابن وفرعون واثنين من الأرمن الموالين للحريري

Will Nadim Bashir Gemayel be part of a Hariri-backed list ?
If anyone knows the guy, I'd be glad to hear his position towards Hariri, Syria, Amercia, etc.

Sometimes i wish my dad was an MP... i would've became one 25 years later too, even if i didn't have a political opinion... (sigh)..Ebno la Bashir w bento la Jebran....

actually I was told that either him or his mom will run!! but most probably Nadim will run!!

And the Teuini's proclaim themselves not feudal... The Gemayel's are, that's for sure. But kind of disapointing that the Tueni's have taken that path.

But imo, if Nadim is candidate, it will weaken the list, as I do not think he is very "strong" P-R wise. He even works in Qatar, far from "the ground". And a lot of people mock him too... Sort of a new Micho Mouawad and Caghlos Eddeh.

Nadim is a little spoiled kid. I knew him from school and I heard some things about him after school.

During the 2006 war, he spent a lot of time in the Kataeb HQ of Ashrafieh (near my aunt's house). Apparently, one evening, there was a family of Shiites that came to that place and asked for shelter and food. Nadim (personally) told them: "3al 2arzeh ma bet 2arbo! 7atta 3ala-arrasif ma btemcho!"

A couple of days later, a van transporting food arrived at their HQ, while it was supposed to arrive to the FPM HQ of Ashrafieh. Instead of showing the way to FPM HQ, they told the driver that they'll take the food, and they did... I don't suppose they're doing any charity work in that place are they?

Nadim is a brat. Hearing him speak is as painful to the ears as hearing Caghlos and Micho. It would only please the comic script writers to have him as an MP. As for Nayla Tueni, she has to prove herself as a journalist, first. What is it that makes these people believe that they can inherit an MP chair?

Since FPM taught a valuable lesson to the fuedal Gemayel clan in the by-election of Metn, then it is FPM's responsibility to teach the other fuedal families in Beirut and elsewhere the same valuable lesson.

all i know abt beirut 09 that FPM is participating bi 2ouwwe in all 3 districts ( i was surprised to hear this since i was thinking that we wont participate in the 3rd one ).

we will win the 1st 2., but To WIn we have to work ALOT, FPM started working its been 5 days and the work will finish on 7am elections day.
