Of course, it's not an easy situation to live in...

I indirectly know a girl who was raised as a christian, and that knew in her early twenties that her parents were actually jews...

That came as a huge shock for her...

And the cool thing is that, from reading her on the internet (She became anonimously vocal about her situation), she's pro-opposition and feels no fear from Hezbollah...

How are they "progressive"? Bi shou ? Bil3amele? I'd say yes...
Haha, indeed, I never had any respect for the kind of fake, unnatural Oil-driven progressivism of arab countries...

The only country I somewhat appreciate, is Qatar, and in a less degree, the UAE...

As for the president, choosing a jew would cut off any dilemna... It would be a great answer to the presidential itching that comes with maronite genes

There is actually a Lebanese of Jewish faith in the Orange Room, though I will leave it up to him/her whether he/she would like to reveal himself/herself.

Argentinian? I dont think so :)

I don't know much about her, or if she still considers herself christian...

The little I read from her are actually her commentaries on The TheJewsOfLebanon.org (to answer also ana3arabi)...

I urge all to read this site, it's really a great thing, it's like discovering a new little dusty facet of your country...

every1 has freedom of expression , or should have it . jews are free to come out & say they are jewish , if they don't want to , they are exercising their right too . but if they don't speak about what they are afraid of , how is anyon supposed to understand them or protect them ? if they dont identify themselves as a community how would they be protected ? either way the 1st step is theirs to be taken , they should come out & say they are jewish , no one will hurt them , i bet u most of them don't live in dahieh , south lebanon or baalbak-hermel anyway .
What's wrong with the neo-arabofascists after the word that followed it was removed? :D I'll add it to the list... Fanatic zealous neo-arabofascist... Sounds cool...

either way the 1st step is theirs to be taken ,
How ridiculous. The first step is for politicians and the general public to start changing their extremely negative perception of Jews. Anti-semitism is not only tolerated in our society but is also encouraged.
