2009-04-29
Albalad

To those who criticized me last week for saying that Baabda's seat is being UNFAIRLY linked to Jezzine's in the opposition's negotiations, are you now (10 days later) finally convinced or not yet?

The problem isn't with FPM. It is with the allies unfortunately.

Kanj's nomination was supposed to be finalized and confirmed since the moment HA withdrew their MP from Beirut 2.

Even the tayyar webiste does not have figures about the number of voters in sahel and jurd baabda posted.....

When they say the jurd baabda is not represented , its true..... chbeniye,, hammana , falougha,3in dara, and many more villages. We need a candidate from this area living in this area who knows the people of this area and their problems...

Don't be surprised if abdallah farhat gets alot of christians vote , we only have to blame ourselves. this doesn't mean that voters in this area think in a tribal way , it means they care and they feel represented if they know the person. Get the figures right , 30% or more votes comes from jurd baabda...

P.S: Admiting a mistake is a virtue and sometimes all it takes.

There is a high executive position that FPM has allocated to a person from the Jurd as you call it.
And that person is very well connected to the Jurd families, is FPM's ally and is working hard for the election.

Now guys do me a favor: it's not that every time a new slogan is pushed by the loyalist that we are going to buy into it and panick.

I think Baabda nominations is the biggest mistake for FPM in this election...
Kortbawi fits very well in the list .... he got more than gharios in 05 and he is way more experienced than alain plus he is well respected in the jurd area...
Other nominations like jbeil and achrafieh look very well balanced...
I really can't find any reason for this faux-pas in baabda .... afraid from daccache and his chi3a votes??

Even if FPM was affraid from daccache chi3a voters the best way to counter it is to get more christian votes from the jabal.Daccache was popular in the moutains because he was respected there however a candidate from the moutains will get alot more votes the he would anyday.

This is not a game and surely not something where a subjective decision is used.
You can't say it is a mistake if you don't have the background of the decision. GMA said clearly how he will be doing decisions and I believe he is sticking to it.
PLUS, he mentioned many times that we have to end this segmentations of Jurd, Sahel,....What else you want every village to vote for a candidate?
Alain Aoun replaced Cortbawi because he was ahead in all polls. This is not about how much cortbawi was ahead of Gharios in 2005.....
