Isn't it weird that he doesn't see one positive thing Rafic Hariri did? How can a writer can be considered objective, if he sees the wrongdoings of Rafic Hariri and we never read an article written by him about Nabih Berri?

This is the orange definition of objectivity and good journalism!

Half, if not more, of the Lebanese population doesn't see one positive thing Rafic Hariri did...It's not the end of the world...

Can you be more specific? Do you have numbers or stats about the spread of Al Akhbar? I am interested in knowing that.

What does 'orange" have to do with it? aren't you doing here exactly what you are accusing (and objecting on) Abu Khalil of doing?

And on what criteria did you base your claim?

Here is a quite recent and interesting article about the Lebanese Press

Still I do prefer Joseph Smaha's type of writing (which is much more coherent) over his. His criticism is harsh at times and may cross the line once in a while.

Overall though, I wait his articles every Saturday... He's an asset to Al-Akhbar crew which is quickly becoming a top Arabic newspaper (not that I think there's actual Arab Journalism outside of Muhammad Hasanein Haikal and some of the good Lebanese non-paid writers)
There's no substitute for Joseph Smaha. The Lebanese are yet to appreciate intellectual caliber rather than the amount of explosives.

It's not just the talking bro. There's been lots of talk about St. Hariri. Problem was that wasn't about the Hariri we knew, it was about some imaginary fellow who never really existed.

For the past three years we had the Hariri media machine trying to create a Jekyll-and-Hyde situation, or erase the real Hariri altogether.

As'ad's article contrasts the personality cult with the man's real legacy!

Regardless of whether you like or dislike his political views, Asaad abou khalil is a brilliant modern day political historian and one of the rare writers who dares to portrait the truth as blunt and harsh as it can be.
