There are many discussions and many rumors. There were serious talks about some Hawks, but it seems they were dropped.

Oh the 80s Version Of leopard?? Why not give Us The Leopard 2 then?
|
The Leopard was still used up to this year in many armies, including Canada and Belgium, however those armies are changing many concepts in their tactics, and they are replacing those tracked tanks by wheeled tanks and fighting vehicles, this is why we were able to get relatively good tanks for a very good price. (Btw Belgium sold Jordan 20 F16s for a very good price also, around 4 million Euros each only)
Those Leopards anyway have many features that are not available in any tank our army posses (ex. thermal imaging), so it is better than nothing.

And the Stupid AIFVs That are mainly used to kill FootSoldiers, Basically this weapon causes no threat at all to israel, It's Just an APC better suited for Battle. They want us to kill each Other with these weapons as usual.
|
The AIFV has a powerful 25 mm cannon, of course it will not be used against Israeli tanks, but it is important for many of the LAF tasks in urban zones, it will do better than the M113 (Better armored and soldiers fire from inside their turret). On the other hand, its cannon is effective against lightly armored vehicles, helicopters, rooms etc...

Then they Give you MORE M-113s, Or Cardboard Boxes of Death. Description:M113A1-B-Amb - Ambulance with room for 4 litters. This type is unarmed but is fitted with six 76mm smoke grenade launchers. (i bet they did not offer the grenade launchers).
|
These are specifically Ambulances M113s, which the army lacks. They are better equipped for medical tasks than any of the current M113 acting ambulances.
