1-Any information about the lebanese army's Equipment, strategies, strong points and weak points are welcome.

2-When could the army be definilty ready to take the job of the resistance and be capable of pushing back the IDFs who Pose a serious threat to our national security and Sovereignty in times of Invasion.

3-What does the Lebanese army lack today From types of equipment to training and how can they make up for it and what are the obstacles that stand in the way of a capable lebanese army?

4-This thread is also related to the resistance and how they coordinate and exchange info with the army, in what ways do they serve the army and in what ways it serves them, Can we say that the lebanese resistance groups are integrated into the army and to what extent?

I am also hoping that by discussing these issues we can all realise somehow the strategic importance of the resistance.
As long as you have HA running around and ordering our Lebanese troops and giving them no entry or fly zones the army will never be strong enough to battle any other country.

We have left the protection of a country loyal to a militia of Iran made up of Lebanese people. SYRIA took Lebanon hostage for 30 years and from 1990 till 2005 had the power to strengthen our army and equip it with the modern munitions needed for any modern army, but they were to busy killing our civilians and manipulating our constitution while allowing arms smuggling to a proxy army that they could use to their benefit. Lets not forget keeping our dear general Aoun in exile.

A question to all you people who ponder how we can make our national army stronger to fight Israel ? How can it be made stronger when certain people in our own country wont allow a LA Helicopter to land on its own territory ?

How do you expect the Americans to give us more weapons to fight Israel when our country has a miltia running around loyal to Iran ??

They will probably reward the army with anti-Merkava Missiles (like HA) and a few planes (with pilots).... as well as Meaningful international support (cause russia is trying to build an army of nations that counter US influence especially in the MidEast) Unlike the US that abadons it's allies (Georgia).

Although This move will probably lead to a sort of Civil-war with America's Allies in lebanon thus creating unrest in the country for a pretty decent period of time also some American Boats in the region will probably move against our army as well as Israel that will try to destroy the LA because it will be considered a legitimate target.
In life you are expected to advance not take backward steps, Syria killed many Lebanese people and still hold hundreds of prisoners and you want to become allies, they also had the chance to equip our army but they refused.

The Goal is not to make allies with Syria but to strengthen the Army and Receive supplies, Besides Syria will be Forced (by russia) to change it's Policy towards us.

It's those weapons (American) that we will not receive because they don't trust us enough(israel's interests).

However Russian weapons who are also advanced could do us much better, Because Russia and china will Offer Weapons and Proper support that we will never receive from the US.

USA has this sick logic That says: why Do i have to offer anything to these people If i can get anything i want by just asking them to do it. (what is happening today in Saudi Arabia and Egypt).

The problem we will face in Lebanon are the Pro-American And Pro-Israeli side that will do everything in their power to stop this from happening (including Civil-War) Because it is at that time only (civil-war) That America will Arm the Pro-western Front so that they can face their Brothers.

but seriously ya troblosiye, i believe the long term goals of HA is to NOT to be incorporated into the Lebanese Army, but for the Lebanese Army to be sucked into HA. Why else would they want to be stronger than state, instead of helping the state get stronger?

SHOO!! M3ALLMI !!! ;)

It is a possibility But many people beleive in them...(I say this as the NO1 resistance supporter in this Forum) But we cannot say forsure that they are really trying to build a state or any of that stuff because it's just accusations that lack Enough proof and evidence Either Audio or Visual I mean until now they have had some pretty solid excuses for doing what they DO and we approve of it.

But be Sure That if we ever find out That they are trying to do something like that BE SURE that we will be the first people to fight against them.

the Lebanese army exists for one sole purpose and that is too keep the lebanese and their guests from killing each other. To do its job properly it needs more sophisticated equipments than what the other organisatiions have whether it's hizbullah today or the equally potent salafist army growing in the North in ten years.

IMO keep it for parades on independence day. It cost a lot less and it's a much smaller burden on the country's treasury.

China is not part of any international alliance... As far as I'm concerned, it does have partnership agreements with Russia, but is in very good terms with the US. It will stay that way. They are the great 'neutral' power! The ones that will shift the balance toward the highest bidder, which isn't Russia for sure, the US is reluctant to make a clear alliance with a great authoritarian country such as China, and the EU is only powerful in economics, and its members are closing deals with China that will hold in the mid-term!

So Lebanon is in deep sh!t! It cannot choose the side of Russia. Not only because we don't know what the US response will be, nor because of internal disagreements, but because we're not sure what Russia can or wants to give to us...

There has already been a Cold War before... Do we really want to side with the potential loser?
