Default The Army of Lebanon - 29th August 2008

This thread's main purpose is to discuss the potential and capabilities of our national army.

1-Any information about the lebanese army's Equipment, strategies, strong points and weak points are welcome.

2-When could the army be definilty ready to take the job of the resistance and be capable of pushing back the IDFs who Pose a serious threat to our national security and Sovereignty in times of Invasion.

3-What does the Lebanese army lack today From types of equipment to training and how can they make up for it and what are the obstacles that stand in the way of a capable lebanese army?

4-This thread is also related to the resistance and how they coordinate and exchange info with the army, in what ways do they serve the army and in what ways it serves them, Can we say that the lebanese resistance groups are integrated into the army and to what extent?

I am also hoping that by discussing these issues we can all realise somehow the strategic importance of the resistance.

Everyone in this forum Is in Love with the army, But do we really have any idea about what hardships our army men are going through regarding thier equipment, supplies and the various almost impossible tasks that we ask of them while under these Rotten conditions.

So why don't you people share with us some of the problems and solutions posted above (especially the people of the tayyar as they should have a good understanding of the army's situation better then the rest of the parties).

So what do the Lebanese people propose to strenghten our army? Or do you think that we should leave these big matters to the "Politicians" ;)

What good is this Army? I'm surprised they even have chopper-flight patrols which is nothing but a waste of money and resources.

It's proven useless against Israel and lately in internal conflicts. Best thing would be to send those useless generals home and form a scout platoon.

That way the resistance would go on protecting the country, and we'll be saving a lot of money to spend on other more worthwhile matters.

The Army needs to modernization and needs seriously to be equipped. With real weapons.

The US never allowed it and won't ever allow it as long as something called Israel exists.

The LA must start to secretly smuggle high tech weapons and should never disclose their existence in its hands.

The resistance is highly invited to participate in such efforts.

I would like to see some real tanks that can't be penetrated by bullets.
Some missiles that reach any point in Israel
airplanes like the jewish army have.

The truth is no army can ever defeat Israel. We witnessed the 1967 war against Israel where all the arabs were fighting and end up in their defeat in 6 days!!! No matter how much amount of weapons etc we will never be able to destroy the enemy. The one thing that the army needs is for its people to rally around it and for it to be the ONLY force that is responsible for lebanon not HA nor any other party.

Under funded??? you must be kidding me. This army is the only army in the world that keep paying salary and retirement even after their death they pay their kids. What this army needs is to be loyal to their country and not their religious or political leaders.
Take for example 3amid Shouquair who is he loyal to??? The state of Lebanon or Hassan Nesrallah who saved his job back in may.
