I have to say that in politics we (LCP) differ alot from Bachir Gemayel but I have to say that I respect him. He was a man who did what he said. He didn't say something and do something else. He was a man with great charisma. He was like moussa sadr and kamal joumblatt. each has his beliefs but they did what they preached.

All the christians defended themselves Ahrar Kataeb Marada that's not the question....
Just answer me why did he killed christians... brothers in arms... freedom fighters like him? And how can we question a killer like Geagea a thief like Berri and Hariri a genocider like Jumblat when we JUST LOVE Bashir Gemayel without any self criticism?

black saturday was A HUGE MISTAKE and so was the other killings made by the lf and kataqeb at that time , all power hungry and unnecessary.

what interest me is how bachir realized that israel and the west were the TRUE ENEMIES ALBEIT TOO LATE.
if he had lived a few more years he would have helped awaken the christians earlier to THAT FACT and he would have made us looking inwards a LOT MORE EASIER.

thats what people ask for, just respect. You dont see people bashing Kamal Jumblat on his memorial day for his acts and his speeches that call for eradicating the christians, or Nabih Berri for bombing the hell out of palestenian camps for three straight years, or abo 3ammar trying to liberate palestine through Jounieh.

we could list all christian leaders throughout history and criticise them , but we need a dedicated thread and plenty of typing to do, where do you want me to start? Kamil chamaoun (fata el 3orooba) or Pierre Gemayel(the lawyer of the palestinian cause worldwide)? The christian president, the christian army general, the christian head of intelligent services who got paid to allow the palestenians to get armed under their sight? I just feel sorry for the innocents and the martyrs
who believed in a cause that was designed and planned to kill them by their own leaders.

There is a double personality within Bachir. He's got both Michel Aoun and Samir Geagea in him! I respect him because of the GMA that grew in him in his last years, but I hate him for the SG that remained with him throughout his life!

Bachir committed horrible massacres, against Christians and Muslims alike! He plotted against his Christian allies, and allied with the Israelis that massacres thousands of Muslims, even the moderate ones!

Smith is right, I hate it when FPMers talk about Bachir as if he was the equivalent of GMA! Indeed we do hate Geagea for the things he's done, but Geagea did nothing more than Bachir!

The only difference is that Geagea has only half a brain and doesn't think about the consequences of his action. Geagea committed massacres "for the fun of it", but Bachir committed massacres for strategic reasons (although his strategy was only half-thought). However I dunno who's the lesser evil, the sadistic evil or the calculating evil...

PS: let's not forget that whatever the reasons or excuse we might give him, Bachir left to Geagea the job to assassinate Tony Frangieh! Whether he meant to have the family and the dog killed as well doesn't matter, he did give the job to the most mad of madmen, and later plotted to do the same with Dani Chamoun, and he would have if Camille Chamoun did not step in, replace his son, and accepted all of Bachir's wishes!

realized after what he became president and Israeli are occupying Beirut?

i believe what he realized is big myth because we don't know who assassinated him and i don't believe like many will tell us here that Israel killed him...

but even if he realized at the end what's the best for the country it is still to late why should we remember his last 17 days and forgot everything else!

this sounds just like those who support Hariri.. eee he was a thief but he gave a lot and he built beirut and he realized in the end that Syria was occupying our country after like 15 years lool..
so should we remember hariri at his last days and forgot all the 15 years?

i don't think so!

(im not making any friends here at all.. bashing everybody but its fun)
