Are the statements of Joumblatt isolated from what's happening in Iraq? Aren't they a part of the conspiracy against the Christian existence in the Middle East?

to be honest with you, I don't believe that their is a plan to drive the christians outside lebanon. I do however realize that more lebanese christians immigrate from lebanon every year as opposed to muslims. Christians are also less likely to come back and settle as opposed to muslims and part of that is that it might be easier for them to assimilate into the western society. Keep in mind I am being very general here as this is personal observation based on my relatives and christian friends I have abroad. I dont believe lebanon is similar to iraq and that the christians in lebanon have the same threats as chaldeans in iraq simply because christians in iraq are a minority that have been marginalized for decades and are an easy target of terrorists in in iraq(which has no shortage of terrorists). Also the mind set in iraq is different when it comes to looking to christians as opposed to lebanon who had long years of civil strife and is finally showing some signs of accepting the other. Finally christians are an essential part of lebanon, you cant have lebanon without its christians and none of the major sects and that includes a big portion of sunnis(except for harriri and company) would not want the palastinians neutralized. Lebanese sunnis and palastinians have very different set of minds, just like lebanese shia and iraqi shia are different
.

I disagree. It sounds to me more of a 'marriage proposal' from a desperate 'loser/lover'. The bride is too good for him to accept him.

HA yesterday was meeting with Aoun and coming out with a strong stance in terms of demands for the formation of the Government.

But a response would not hurt unlike the President Sleiman's silence during the election and after his miserable defeat he comes out and deny he interfered.
