HEY HEY HEY
What the helllll!!! Any actual LIBERALS here... .

I am pro FPM and will vote for Aoun this election, but what the hell does Jesus have to do with the **** country. It's an AD, and it was the MOST honest thing in that newspaper that day ironically!!!

But let's not forget that the FPM does wish to eventually have in Lebanon a Secular State, with freedom of speech and belief, and everyone is turning into extremists because Jesus is part of an AD or a Joke or whatever.

I'll tell you what, if you can't accept another point of view on paper, then you're not different from the Saoudis or the Pakistanis...

I HAVE NEWS FOR EVERYONE FORM THE REST OF THE WORLD, JESUS is not untouchable, Jesus is criticized and laughed at every day everywhere in the civilized world, and they are better off. So stop whining and protest about more important things for a change.

I only write this because I am surprised at the level of intolerance exhibited because of this. And Nabil N2oula, stop calling all the priests... these douchebags have nothing to do with politics or freedom of speech.

This is a completely different thing you're talking about. Don't forget that this is election, and that there's an international war against FPM and GMA, and we will use every single mistake against them.

And now we are 4. Lol. I'm surprised so few who find nothing heretical about this. We've still got a long way to go for a community based on mutual respect and liberty. I said before, I don't like it, but regardless of that they have the freedom of speech. It applies to this, just as much as it applies to the Danish cartoons, as for anything else.

And for those offended, hey, you're just as free to boycott Samsung, write to their distributors, or whomever...maybe not moustaqbal because its pointless writing to toilet paper. Fine I understand FPM and some folks making a big deal about this, maybe its ok for the loyalists to get a taste of their own medicine in election season.

But bottom-line is, you're just as free as they. That people should not be free to do as they did is not a principle that can be defended while upholding freedom of speech. If I want to swear at the president or state, I want to be able to, if I want to swear at GMA, SHN, Darth Sfeir, Hariri, Jumbi...I want to be able to.

Preach liberty for heaven's sake, go practice!

General my General and machinesturner and everybody else again and one last time read this and understand it:
This is not about the rights to talk about Christ, Mohammad, Moise or Bouddha, it is about the sensitivities of messing with such subject in Lebanon and the quasi acceptance by all communities that these subjects are taboos for discussion at this point in time and this includes el mustaqbal themselves since they have admitted making a mistake, why would they admit making a mistake if they think that there is a freedom of right to talk about religion and nobody would be offended by such pictures?
The problem we have on our hand is a party, a newspaper, a gang call it whatever you want, that see that what is taboo and offensive to their community is not offensive to others, and they only realize that they have made a "mistake" after somebody tells me they screwed up, didn't they do the same with holy friday?
If they were really fighting your fight which is the freedom of speech including the freedom of speech of talking about religion they would have taken the stand of salman rushdi or the Danish newspaper who both said they will not apologize for they have not made any mistake, Al mustaqbal admitted a mistake which makes them guilty as charged for either the lack of understanding of freedom of expression or lack of understanding of the sensitivities of the Lebanese fabric, or both for that matter.
