Syria had more to gain! Killing Mughniyeh was a way to ease tensions between Syria and America. As a thanks to Syria for killing that terrorist, the USA made sure that the UN concluded that "criminals" killed Hariri, and not Syrian intelligence.

So Israel, who had just sustained a military defeat to Hezbollah, and who is still committed to destroying Hezbollah, had nothing to gain from a supposed decapitation strike of one of the leaders of a movement that has plagued its military with embarassment for decades?

While your theory does hold ground on logical terms, it seems much more plausible and realistic to assume that Israel had much more to gain than Syria. Bush doesn't have the credibility or political capital to attack Syria. Israel had been making peace overtures to Syria even before Mughniyeh's death.

Why are you responding to him? He's here to provoke you with his illogical views. Just ignore him and he'll go away.

That's all I need to hear. It's a theory. You can't say Israel killed him, until Israel openly confesses it. Same with Syria. And, if Hezbollah does indeed attack Israel without being able to confirm that they killed him, and start a war resulting to the death of another 1,000 Lebanese, claim that if they know their was a one percent chance of it happening they wouldn't have done it, it's the Lebanese who are going to look like fools.

I can say this. Whoever killed Mughniyeh deserves a medal. I mean, even the more liberal Hezbollah supporters have no reason to like the guy. He represents everything ugly about Hezbollah's terrorist past, a past Hezbollah has never denounced and never cited a change from. It's because of Mughniyeh that Hezbollah is considered a terrorist group. That man was a bit too adventerous.

Hezbollah has already said it has conclusive proof Israel killed Mughniyeh. And since when is it a rule that somebody has to have concrete evidence to go to war?

You didn't address anything I said other than the fact I acknowledged your point is possible but not as realistic as another scenario.

Well, I would like to see this definite proof.

What else is their to address? There's no use in pointing fingers at some one without proof and I'd like to see HA's proof. We're talking about scenarios, not one is more likely than the other.
