Another question for the F14 geniuses,
Why did it take them so many years to accept the opposition’s right to exist and be fully represented in their own government?
Was it other than the fact they were promised by Lebanon’s enemies and were waiting for them to destroy half of Lebanon’s communities along with its identity?
Is GMS who is meeting with Assad today any different than Lahoud back then?
Can they ever deny the fact that HA victory guaranteed every Lebanese civil rights and the integrity of Lebanon?

Lebanon as a sovereign Nation must have:

1. Space or territory which has internationally recognized boundaries (boundary disputes are OK).
2. People who live there on an ongoing basis.
3. Economic activity and an organized economy. A country regulates foreign and domestic trade and issues money.
4. The power of social engineering, such as education.
5. A transportation system for moving goods and people.
6. A government which provides public services and police power.
7. Sovereignty. No other State should have power over the country's territory.
8. External recognition. A country has been "voted into the club" by other countries.

That's the bare minimum. Having competing armies and putting the interests of external causes over the good of the Nation is a sure formula for disaster; not too many countries in the world have marched down this beaten path as often as Lebanon. One would think the Lebanese by now are familiar with such warning signs. Kazem

Naharnet, Beirut, 13 Jul 08, 12:56

MP Hassan Khalil for National Dialogue After Policy Statement

MP Ali Hassan Khalil of the Hizbullah-affiliated AMAL movement on Sunday sparked a new conflict with the March 14 majority, saying national dialogue should be launched only after the cabinet's policy statement.
Furthermore, Khalil said main lines of the policy statement adopted by the previous cabinet after the 2005 elections should be included in the new statement.

Khalil's remarks aim at including recognition of such items as the "resistance" and Hizbullah weapons in the new cabinet policy statement, a move rejected by the March 14 majority.

Majority leaders want national dialogue launched prior to discussing the new policy statement in an effort to settle the dispute over Hizbullah weapons.

----

Does FPM have a position at all on this issue?? or is it farmed out to HA??
FPM is part of this government and owes the people of Lebanon a clarification of its position regarding the weapon issue moving forward and how to approach it in the Bayen Wizari, especially given the propaganda FPM launched on its MOU with HA and how this can be the road forward to disarming.

This thread should be named:"The Naharnet daily".

It's a pity to observe some's obsessions,on a daily basis, and not be able to help...

Abou, The comments were from MP Hassan Khalil, and only reported by Naharnet. I think an MP's statements are worth reading and discussing.
I think the Bayen wizari is important enough and worth discussing especially at the dawn of a new government. I also think that the weapons issue is paramount and one of the main issues of the Lebanese politics of the day. The intersection of these two topics is also an important issue. I appreciate the concern though :)

The bayen wizari is limited by the old one, daw7a agreement and the MoU. All ministers (including the kataebi of Zahle, E. Marouni) of the new government are saying that there is no problem with the bayan wizari.

so ya joseph why are you always looking for problem with your lebanese fellows, while you are in the same time so indulgent with the israelis despite all their massacres
