it is funny but weren't the armenians the ones who were cheering the most before the elections about the planes that tashnag are bringing to vote for the opposition?

Diaspora voting in embassies will cancel this handicap of 10:3 ratio of loyalist to opposition that happened on sunday.
I can see it for poeple that work in the gilf, but live in Lebaonon. Then maybe people that haven't lived in Lebanon for over 10 years, don't get to vote. But then, can we trust the people wgho work at the embassies.!!!!

FPM always fought to give the expatriates their right to vote.

Expatriates are lebanese and must have the same rights and duties as those who're living in Lebanon, including the right which is also a duty to vote.

Lebanon needs the expatriates because they are a source of wealth, culturally and financially.

And anyway, thanks to FPM, the expatriates will be able to vote during next elections. This is a big step within the scope of our will to improve our democracy.

you can't distinguish lebanese people as of being 1 year or 40 years away from lebanon. (btw, my relative met a 70 years old tomato seller coming from venezuela on a paid ticket to vote zay ma hiye, it has been 39 years he hasn't stepped foot in lebanon, and he had 100$ in his pocket.. at the airport!!!) but you do have a small point in here.
and YES, we can trust people at the embassies, they are government employees just like rou2ase2 aqlem. security and everything else is provided by the host country.

Increasing taxes is part of the economic policy of a political party..it is thus a political reason and the expat has a say..

we witnessed what happens when they voted this sunday. they were brought to vote against us, us as in the lebanese who live in lebanon and suffer from the mafia ruling our beloved country for the last 20 years.

why will we accept them to decide on our behalf once again in 4 years ? thats suicidal !

what do you think comrades ?
You bragged for months how Tashnag was bringing thousands of Armenians from overseas. Now you're playing the victim! Frankly the expats cost us a sweep of Maten!
Anyway, I think they should be able to vote in the embassies...

They have to reside in Lebanon for 6 months to vote... This will eliminate petro dollar factor.

What would you prefer? That all abroad get to vote or only those whom Hariri's going to pay for plane tickets in four years time? So let us all vote unless you're able to spend the tens of millions on tickets. Every single person who wanted to vote Hariri or LF got the chance to travel for free w 7abbet mesk on top, so he brought all the scum from all over the world. Those who are so sectarian that they don't see what dump they're putting the country in, and the others who left a billion years ago with war issues they haven't gotten over. Give us all the chance to prove that his money can't buy everyone. IF you don't, then Hariri is going to do what he did this year all over again, and it would be the opposition against corruption once more. You can't win if you live in a time when brains cost batata, so at least give those who can't be bought the chance to voice their opinion from all over the world.

And please try to convince the ignorant Lebanese that one single voice counts. If everyone's going to say "shou baddo sawte ygahyyer", then 2009 is going to be repeated all over again. GET OFF YOUR BUMS AND VOTE PEOPLE!

I voted against for the simple reason of why should Lebaneses living abroad for years and are only coming for vacation should decide the living of the daily living Lebanese who is living in Lebanon when there would be repercussion on only the daily person more than the one who lives and is comfortably living outside for years and has no intention to make a living in Lebanon. But on the other side, there are people who lives abroad and left Lebanon because of the social issues in Lebanon caused from our presence politicians and they would like to see change. Those people have the intention to re-continue living in Lebanon if the conditions are better for all. But in the same time, how would we know as a society who has the intention of just coming for a tourrist issue or someone who has freshly left the country for the intention to come back and never left their own roots. For some its evident but for others its not :(

Maybe a specific number of mp should be given to diaspora, something like the actual parliament quotas: 50% christians, 50% muslim.
for example:
10 mp :
2 Maronites, 1 Orthodox, 1 Armenian, 1 catholic
2 sunnis, 2 chiite, 1 druze

but if we can get secularism before... way better
10 won't work... it has to be the 6x6 moukarrar...
