Default After the MoU with Hezbollah and Iran/Syria visits - What should FPM do next? - 11th December 2008

The MoU with Hezbollah and then the visits to Syria and Iran were "unexpected" and "surprising" moves by FPM/GMA.

So what's next for FPM and GMA?

A visit to the Holy land? We live few hours away from Jerusalem and we are not allowed to visit the historical Holy land, do you think GMA and an FPM delegation should break that taboo and visit the Holy Land?

A Memorandum of Understanding with the Future Movement? Many consider that the way FPM reached to understatement with Hezbollah, FPM can do the same with the Future Movement? so should an MoU with Future Movement be the next goal?

A visit to KSA? KSA being a major player in the region like Iran and to everything it represents to a major sect (Sunnis) in Lebanon, should GMA and FPM visit KSA?

A visit to USA and maybe to France (Official visits) to open a new page with the west?

Or you think there is something else FPM/GMA should do next?

Please discuss.....

Note that Visiting Jerusalem means visiting the Holy Land, not the State of Israel

Jerusalem, H.E GMA should find a solution on his own for the refugees. we all saw that only after his visit to Damascus to process of appointing an ambassador accelerated.

about the other countries, there's no outcome whatsoever for the saudi visit. they have drunken leaders full of c$%^. we (Lebanon) just want their money, not their <<wisdom>>.

the INTERNATIONAL visit should be done just to visit the Lebanese who live abroad, it would be great for the elections, both for funding it and asking them to come and vote :-)

After HA and Syria I think that the most important step for Lebanon is FM/Saudi therefore I voted for the MoU with the FM. The trips to the USA and France are very important and should be done whatever the outcome of a discussion with the FM.

I think that all of those should be done, STEP by STEP!! This is the FPM's main role: put Lebanon on the regional and international map as an independent country! ... and it CAN do it!

I personally vote for a visit to the Holy Land, we live few hours away and Peace might not happen in the near future, Lebanese (Christians and Muslims) have historical and religious attachments with Jerusalem. We are not doing ourselves anything good by not visiting those historical places.

Opening up toward the Obama's administration and to the French is also important but comes in the second place for me.

A visit to KSA and an MoU with FM come last and i think we should do it after wining the elections and becoming the majority.

Unrealistic and hard to achieve.

I think FPM tried many times and invited FM for an understanding but Saad wanted a confontation and he got it.

It depends on how FM want the future ties with FPM

It will have a positive impact, for the US and France are opening diplomatic ties with Syria again, so it would be the right time to check what's cooking in the west

Next FPM should focus on the elections and put its efforts on winning it by all means.
